Yeah, at least Crawford didn't need a gift when he beat the smaller, old Gamboa

The belts are what makes Haney, once he loses those belts he just might be forgotten so he has to surely win against Prograis. Devin is a good boxer and does everything well but he just doesnt have that super star feature. Jack of all trades but master of none.

In fairness Loma did win the jab battle 5-3-4, but with so many tie rds idk that that means a whole lot when so few were landed, 4 per rd on avg between both of them.

I feel like some of you mighta got droped on your heads as babies sometimes.
Whatever you typed translates to Haney not winning on either Total Punches, Or Jabs or Power Punches.

This was a close competitive fight that could have went either way & I'd have been cool with it whichever way it went, but it did go Devin's way.
Swing rounds aren't in the rules. Tie rounds are. If the round is actually even, it's supposed to be scored even. Loma won more rounds clearly, and Haney was the only one in danger. Haney needs to be given every "swing" round to win, and he got outlanded in all but 3 rounds. I've rewatched it on slow motion enough times to see what should have been counted. There's tons of video reviews as well indicating the same thing. He hit Loma with 14 elbows throughout the course of the fight too. Rewatch it on slow motion and count landed punches and recall the "effective aggression" metric and give us your scorecard, please. Having done that, I don't see any way that Haney could have won the fight, personally.

Then there's the false narrative that "to be the champ you have to beat the champ" means that you have to win clearly. That's nonsense. Many of the greats got titles on disputed split decisions. And you'd be surprised to know how many of those Dave Moretti was involved in. Heck, he was involved as far back as Sugar Ray Leonard v Marvin Hagler. What that phrase refers to is the fact that the champ retains in the event of a tie. Nothing else.

The biggest thing that smelled like a rat to me was the narratives being pushed throughout fight week, about "Loma is old; does he have one more great performance; only a handful of old fighters have won this sort of fight.". Then when Muratalla was asked who he wanted next, and said "I want the winner of the main event," Top Rank said "You think you deserve Devin Haney?" Fight hadn't even happened yet, and they were acting like Haney had won.

Total don't matter tho is what you failing to grasp here. Fights aren't judged on totals. Fights are judged rbr & the rbr info you presented suggests it was a close competitive fight either guy could have won. This was horrible "evidence" you brought to support your claim.

Now go home you're drunk bro.
