Yes it did actually have a lot to do with Reagan. As I've already stated, the prison population prior to Reagan was around 500,000 or so. After Reagans "War on drugs" that prison population is now over 2 million (the majority black and the majority are drug related crimes). Drug use amongst blacks is around 13% but the black prison population of drug related offenders is over 50%. That's a direct result of a racist policy. You can slice it up anyway you want, call it what you like, but the fact remains these policies hit blacks & latino's harder than anyone else. And I never said there was a difference between the two parties in our two party system (Clinton continued these same very policies).

Further going back to the crack epidemic, you have to understand HOW and WHERE it started in the first place! (hint: it wasn't white suburbia and it wasn't inner city drug dealers smuggling & suppling the drugs in the US).

And going back to blackirish, the chart of ******* usage is useless because drug use in america is as high, or higher, than it's ever been (meth epidemic, oxycontin/pain killer epidemic, the return or heroin, etc etc etc). War on drugs = failure (even though it was a fraud to begin with).

Nixon's admin, started the war on drugs. I agree with you that its just a scam ,but presidents don't have much to do with it is all I'm saying.

Nixon started it somewhat, but not to the extent of how Reagan executed those policies into reality.

Presidents and their administrations if you want to get more technical (one can argue the actual role a president truly has).
