Khan’s stamina, speed, and frenetic style would’ve given Mayweather issues. Floyd had issues timing Pacquiao, ODLH, Judah, and Hatton for similar reasons (foot and/or hand speed, feints, counterpunching ability, ring generalship), not all of them translated into rounds won, the issues were undeniably there.

It would’ve been difficult for Floyd to get a beat on Khan early in the fight, he wouldn’t be comfortable with Amir. I think that Floyd’s unwavering ring generalship and Amir’s style would have made for frequent clinching and roughhousing, with Amir eventually jumping into a Mayweather counter, getting hurt, and Floyd dominating from there.

Floyd would’ve only been beaten in his generation going up to 160 against GGG or if he held on too long and lost a step against a Crawford or Spence, in a close, competitive fight.

He was fun to watch, but if he was for example for Argentina, he would never get paydays he got.

Khan was never going to beat Floyd! If Floyd could KO Hatton, Floyd could KO Khan!

Sorry, but I disagree with Lyle. Much respect to his opinion and to an excellent career that Khan had.

But, I believe that Mayweather would've either outpointed or ko'd a prime Khan, even the Amir that beat Alexander, Judah and Maidana.

Khan was very fast but Floyd as well, perhaps a tad slower but had great timing. Floyd would've timed him, and if aggressive as he was against Victor Ortiz, then he would've stopped Khan as well.

Of course, it's a pity we never saw that fight at that time though. There is criticism of Floyd not fighting the likes of Paul Williams and Margarito way back then as well, although with the latter's cheating, it was wise not to fight him.

Khan was always chinny and his defence bad because he was square on too much, but cong**** to winning world titles and making millions of dollars. Also, lots of cojones he had to go up in weight and fight Canelo.

I think people don't sometimes appreciate how good or great Canelo is, and how great Mayweather was. Looking back, you can see what Floyd did, although I wish he had fought other top opponents in their prime, but I don't know who's to blame for that.

It's only three days after his one sided hammering and the idiots are at it , this article is far too ridiculous to be taken seriously .I think this guy must just be poking fun at them , which is quite cruel considering the swelling and bruises are still there for all to see. Khan is still Khan he was just annihilated by a better fighter in Kell Brook who by the way wouldn't have lived with Mayweather, just a little bit of prospective there......which unfortunately seems needed!

I never understood the Khan-Mayweather hype.

Amir has literally zero boxing IQ, and a guy like that could never dream of defeating a boxing master like Mayweather.

Rather, the reason he’d have been the guy to execute the blueprint in a way that 48 others could not was that he had the perfect style to get it done.

Oh please. Mayweather said when his father was training Hatton to fight him and told the press he would teach Hatton the Blueprint to beat him: "How is he going to give him a blueprint to beat men, when no one has ever beat me?"

I don't know why Khan and the Khan fans still hold on to that bizarre day dream that Khan would in any way beat Floyd. Maidana was the tougher fight. Maidana beat Khan but lost to Floyd twice. That was a 37 year old Floyd way past his prime.

                    Styles make fights.
Whatever anyone's heartfelt predictions of the outcome
Floyd Vs Khan would undeniably have made for very interesting viewing and an entertaining night . Would much rather have watched that than Guerrero for instance, the fight nobody but Guerrero wanted.
Khan made for very entertaining fights and 90% of his career is highly watchable. There are too many fighters who provide that. It was a rollercoaster career and I enjoyed watching. Fans and haters got their share out of him so really there is no partisan bitchfest required.

(*Reminder- Boxingscene forum is the global hotbed of the partisan bitchfest, like it has been directly modelled on the girls locker room of television dramas, at least that's something EVERYONE can agree upon).

I have no idea why people continue to push the myth that Khan was some master boxer who was a nightmare for Floyd.

Because Khan beat Malignaggi, Judah, Kotelnik, and Alexander? OK. Let's just ignore the FACT that none of them are in the same universe as Floyd in terms of skill.
