Most of this thread is a bunch of bull****. Only BennyST and TheGreatA have said anything worthwhile at all.
Any how looking at Chavez resume in relation to pac-
Rosario, Camacho, Mayweather.
I would say Chavez was at his peak when he fought these guys and basically dismantled them. The Meldrick Taylor fight is another barometer, and here is why. Taylor was doing well until obviously he played into Chavez hand by standing him front of him and trading foolishly and this led to his demise. This is something i feel pac does as well. First of all, Pac isnt going be knocking chavez out, he may not even really hurt him. Infact i cant say i ever saw chavez really hurt until MUCH later in his career, his chin was outstanding.
The reality is, is that all of the opponents that pac has faced beyond 135 havent really touched him, so i honestly dont know how well he takes a punch at the higher weight. Going against Chavez at 140 would depend on how well he takes a shot to the body, and how well he can handle the pressure for a full 12 or 15 round fight. Pac in his fight with marquez struggled with marquez timing, Chavez has the ability to neutralize speed, and did it against guys who were seen as the biggest threat to him in terms of being faster.
Pac would have to constantly move in and out, and that **** he does when he overextends his left hand after throwing a combination would end up working against him, because chavez would just comeback with a devastating left to the body. Pac would have to stay away while unloading combinations to have a chance. I somewhat see this fantasy matchup similar to what happened with Rosario to be honest.
