Comments Thread For: Plant: November 6, It's Going Down; First Undisputed Super Middleweight Champ And You're Looking At Him

Caleb Plant is used to having others doubt his potential. It comes as no surprise to the unbeaten super middleweight titlist that he comes in as a heavy underdog for a dream fight with pound-for-pound king Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez ahead of their upcoming November 6 clash at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Plant will put his IBF title on the line and is confident of leaving the venue with Alvarez's WBA/WBC/WBO belts by night's end.

I give a clear edge to Canelo, but Plant has a chance. It's not a if Canelo hasn't been in a couple of close fights in the last five years or so.

Plant will try to do a Mayweather clinic on him, but he's not as slick as Floyd of course. He would have to pump a stiff fast jab out though, and be accurate. Canelo has a very good defence, very effective aggression, but he has his difficulty against slick fighters.

I'm rooting for Plant but it's a stretch for him to win. I think he can if he fights a perfect fight and makes adjustments throughout. He will have to win using his feet and constant jab and try to sting Canelo on a regular basis with hard shots following the jab.

At first, I gave Caleb Plant a good chance of defeating Canelo Alvarez but not anymore.

Alvarez has really evolved as a fighter before our very eyes. He's gone from being this great counter puncher from the first GGG fight to just a pure power puncher from their rematch bout and beyond by fighting off his front foot.

The only way I can see Plant winning this fight if he can back Saul Alvarez up to force him to fight off the ropes and his back foot. If he tries to out box Canelo Alvarez from the outside he is going to get steamrolled by Ginger.

Anything can happen in boxing. Plant is doing a lot of talking, usually a sign of being really nervous about the situation.

Talk about doing the least in a group project and wanting all the credit. He won his IBF belt in 2019, sat on it the entire time, never unifying, now, NOW he's talking about it being his dream to unify the belts when Canelo is the one that did all the leg work? LOL!

I hope he gets his ass beat bad.

I seriously hope he gives it a real go and makes it entertaining, for as long as it lasts

Joe Calzaghe & Carl Froch are probably watching Alvarez's assault of the middle weight divisions and thinking? How on earth has this fighter, a fighter who was beaten by a Floyd Mayweather 12-0 - 12-1 easy, at 150 pounds 'How on earth is he able to beat all of these so called middle weights and some light Heavyweights'.

I have said it before, and I will say it again 'The middleweight divisions are way below par'.

No way, on anyway day would Alvarez be able to survive or dominate during the 90's or early 2000's 'I think he would stay at 154 pounds, and keep well clear of some of the middle weight fighters back then'.

I have just been watching some action of Caleb Plant, and he is not going to beat Canelo Alvarez.

He has some good idea's, but he does not have the athletic ability, or strength.

The fight will most likely looks similar to the Billy Joe Saunders fight, for as long as it last.

I had Andre Dirrell beating Carl Froch and Jose Uzi was beating Andre down...
