I always said Plant has the style to trouble Canelo. Lately, he’s sat in the pocket too much for my liking however. If he uses his legs a little bit more, he has a better chance. Keep Canelo on the outside.

I wasn’t sold on Plant early on when he was a contender, but he’s won me over in the past few years.

I'm rooting for Plant but it's a stretch for him to win. I think he can if he fights a perfect fight and makes adjustments throughout. He will have to win using his feet and constant jab and try to sting Canelo on a regular basis with hard shots following the jab.

It should have been a chance at all the belts get it signed instead he was running.

Talk about doing the least in a group project and wanting all the credit. He won his IBF belt in 2019, sat on it the entire time, never unifying, now, NOW he's talking about it being his dream to unify the belts when Canelo is the one that did all the leg work? LOL!

I like Plant, but I just can't see him winning this fight.

He's not a big puncher, or the type to take the fight to Alvarez, so he's going to have to stick and move and out slick him. Problem is twofold for that; 1) Canelo is a level up from Plant, and his head movement and experience will be enough to negate that style. 2) Does anyone really think Canelo will lose on the cards nowadays?

I get Plant has a reach advantage that Canelo hasn't seen that often, as has been cited above, but its not like he's that much rangier than Danny Jacobs or Kovalev (and less than others). The only way I see Plant winning this, is if Canelo beats himself; meaning Canelo gets an early lead, and then coasts a little too much (or thinks he has a bigger lead than he does). But even that is difficult to envision, he'd probably need a flash knockdown mixed in there for it to work.
