Caleb Plant is used to having others doubt his potential.

It comes as no surprise to the unbeaten super middleweight titlist that he comes in as a heavy underdog for a dream fight with pound-for-pound king Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez ahead of their upcoming November 6 clash at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Plant will put his IBF title on the line and is confident of leaving the venue with Alvarez’s WBA/WBC/WBO belts by night’s end.

“November 6th it's going down,” Plant told Fox Sports’ Heidi Androl while at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for Yordenis Ugas’ recent win over the legendary Manny Pacquiao atop their Pay-Per-View event Saturday evening. “First undisputed Super Middleweight of all time and you're looking at him, his name is Caleb Plant.”

The image of Plant (21-0, 12KOs) on the venue jumbotron along with his interview airing live did not at all resonate with the fans in attendance, raining down boos while clearly favoring Alvarez (56-1-2, 38KOs) in the upcoming bout. That type of doubt has become commonplace to Plant, born and raised in Ashland City, Tennessee but who now lives and trains in Vegas. He will enter as neither the betting nor crowd favorite ahead of the biggest fight of his career, though it won’t prevent him from remaining focused on what it will take to realize his lifelong dream in the ring.

“I just gotta go out there and be myself,” insists Plant, who attempts the fourth defense of the belt he’s held since January 2019. “I feel like I’ve got every tool in the bag to make that happen.

“My downfall would be going out there and doing anything but being myself. November 6, you guys tune in. It’s gonna be a show.”
