Comments Thread For: Hearn Cautious About Submitting Large Offers For Future Purse Bids, Says It's Up To DAZN

Promoter Eddie Hearn appears to have taken a page from the deficit hawks on Capitol Hill. The Matchroom head, who has made a name for himself based, in part, for his extravagant payouts, recently expressed some uncommon financial discretion after he was asked if he would submit offers for potential purse bids, particularly as it relates to the Teofimo Lopez-George Kambosos IBF lightweight title fight and the recently mandated Terence Crawford-Shawn Porter WBO welterweight title fight.

I think Hearn might be afraid to piss Arum off even more, in case there's a chance for Fury vs. Joshua in 2022! I just hope Arum can get the deal done without a purse bid. Bud Crawford deserves this fight!

I think you’re probably right and I think young Edward is looking at the long term picture. DLH is leaving dayzin, my guess is he won’t look to do business with Hearn when he leaves for triller since they have never seemed overly friendly and seem to completely avoid each other especially after the Canelo coup. One could see that as a burned bridge as he clearly burned bridges with Haymon and pbc. If he burns the bridge with arum not only would that do damage to future Top Rank access but also to Warren’s stable of top shelf British talent. In short, young Edward is learning to be diplomatic be it the hard way

I think he's realised that the top US promoters are more interested in cock blocking than making big fights, which is why boxing became a minority sport in the US.

A lot of people thought that Oscar and Canelo joining DAZN meant Eddie's days as the app's director of boxing were numbered. Funny how that worked out.

"I can't tell you how many people win purse bids and then phone me up and say 'Look I know I beat you in the purse bid but do you wanna do the fight?'

Is the number of people 0? How often does Hearn even lose a purse bid for this claim to be possible?

He’s a legit Army vet as I am a former devil dog. I think the poster just has a beef with him. I’ve watched him now for days hopping from post to post saying the same tired s h I t over and over again.

Boxing is bigger in America than it is in the UK. The money is better in America and so are the views. This statement from Eddie pretty much is an indication that his days are numbered at DAZN. Why haven’t Jacobs and Andrade fought? He can’t even make the big fights his self. Don’t come to America running your mouth 24/7 talking about stealing fighters from other promoters. I think Eddie learned the hard way. His big immature mouth has burned a lot of bridges for him. Back to the UK he goes
