But yeah he had several very watchable fights at 160. I didn’t take exception to the other poster saying he was boring either, it was that he called him one of the “worst boxers” he’s ever seen- which is just crazy talk.
Oh I don't think he was a bad boxer at all. He was very smart and tricky. I still think he was boring but definitely not bad. If his work rate were higher, I'd think he was a lot less boring honestly. He landed some really clever punches in there and knew how to get things done with little movement and the right punches.

The perception of the viewer says whats boring, there is so much that is unseen by a large percentage of fans so the more basic and brutal it is the better the average guy can see it, ramp up the ability and things start getting missed, the sweet science is the hardest thing to master yet the least liked by casual fans.

I appreciate the sweet science but break it into two parts: boxing and fighting. They are not the same.

If a boxer sacrifices the fighting part, he shouldn't expect to be appreciated same as the one who combines both. When boxers are not fighting, they are usually a bore. Compare someone like Andrade to Davis or William Zepeda. The first time I saw Zepeda was last week. He's amazing and exciting. He combines both spirits. I'm hooked as a new fan. He destroyed Tanajara's little baby mystique. William Zepeda is the definition of special effects.

        I don't like watching a non-action fight.

Clearly more skilled and has more power than his opponent but decides to box from the outside.

This is basically my definition of a boring fighter.

That's even worse. People expect fighting.

Excessive holding. That's why I think I rarely enjoy MMA unless it's a stand up fight alll the way. And I rarely find boxing matches boring.

When I read that, Wlad came to mind, right away. I never really respected him much until the Joshua fight. He showed a big dog in that fight to make me forget all his past. He was on that night. Kudos to him.

Too many instances with lack of action. Too much jabbing and few power punches being thrown.

Combination punching is almost a lost art. Did you see the Zepeda-Tanajara fight? Zepeda is special, isn't he?

Excessive clinching is the worst because it goes against the very nature of boxing. You are not punching, and you are not allowing your opponent to punch either.
