The best refused to fight him and dropped belts rather than fight him. Maybe now that he looked vulnerable he will get fights.

He's still a boy, he'll get his manpower soon but he's never going to be a big puncher. Like Floyd even Rigondeaux (don't get me wrong he can crack). I am not tuning in to see a brawl & them taking silly risks just to please fans who won't show any appreciation anyway.
I want to see the sweet science like I seen for the first 7-8 rounds, flawless crisp beautiful boxing.

The kid needs to accept he isn't blessed with power & stick to what he does best and box. Stop trying so hard too impress.

I thought he boxed beautifully he adjusted for no real reason other than to try put a statement on it and gave Linares every opportunity. He said he wasn't hurt, he clearly was and his legs wasn't under him for some time but I liked what I seen and his ability to tie up, buy some time just see out the next round. Smart but then it became a hideous clinch fest.
God that was ugly and boring and probably ended up hurting his stock despite ticking almost every box prior.
It went from being a masterclass to needless ******ity.
I think if he just stuck to what he was doing he'd have got more credit fans would have said ok well nobody has ever outboxed Linares like that, he made him look like Brandon Rios or something but then he gets carried away. Maybe its good he showed some vulnerability & they will now get in the ring with him.

Just box, keep winning, they'll tune in even if it is in hope you lose.

Credit to Linares, it was way wider than the scores suggested but he was in incredible shape.
Like WTF was those scorecards? I literally gave Linares 2 rounds, 3 max.
He was getting caught with left hooks from the opening round. Linares showed us how to beat Haney and it's not by doing anything that special. Haney's hands are down and ready to get countered by someone with world class speed. Haney can't handle combination punchers. Haney can't recover from a decent shot, that wasn't a death blow pal. Someone that can muscle Haney around and Linares wasn't trying to muscle anybody because he was tired and old.

Still a boy? He's 22, 26 fights, and a big green belt. He's in the prime of his manhood.

Holding for 2 rounds over one punch, as soon as he fights a top guy he's getting smote upon the rocks.

Haney is 22, he'll get better and smarter with time and experience.

The truth is he hasn't had a lot of learning fights against higher-caliber opponents yet. Linares was his first.

Give the kid room to make mistakes and grow. I don't see why there's a rush to throw him in the garbage already.

not to mention Bill was talking over Davidson in the corner. If I was a trainer, that would not be a situation I’d allow myself to be in. Get the father the **** out or walk, because you’ll always be #2

EDIT - oh, and he ended up getting booed by his hometown crowd. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that lol
I noticed that. Davison was having to wait for bill to shut his trap every single round before he could get something in

I just can't deal with the no power thing. I can't know from the bat that you can't stop the opponent. I want to support him. Some poster on here said he was Gamboa and Lineres first decision loss. Everybody else stopped them. I used to watch Mayweather's fight with a passion waiting on a strategic knockout. It just never ****ing came. Canelo won't get the K.O. if the opponent try to survive, people like Haney won't get the K.O. because he's trying to survive. I'm trying to word it right. It's like watching golf, which is already boring, Phil Mickelson is -3 and Rory is +4(in second). Phil goes for all pars knowing Rory wont birdie more than 3 holes. Listen how boring this sounds even typing it

I don't think it was fans. Linares has been stopped in all 5 of his losses. On some level, as a man Haney probably expected a finish in that fight and wanted to go get it.

no one ducked him. that was all marketing on his part. he has dazn and dazn made zero offers to anyone good. dropping the belt cause haney was with dazn doesnt mean ducking. it means i can no longer keep the belt and haney isnt a legit figth right now to try and make. if haney wanted to make the fight he could have made an offer. loma even said that! he said if he makes me a big offer ill fight but if not commey-lopez winner. haney even gets a better split this way...silence. also some more context haney now says he doesnt want to or have to fight loma cause loma just lost. does that sound like a guy who wanted to party with the big boys? a bluff! publicity!

hes not very perceptive then because he couldnt stop a compeltely shot gamboa so he should know he has pillow fists and in the future he prob hopes all his opponents do as well

Lomachenko vs Lopez could have gone ahead without Lomachenko having to drop the WBC belt.

Why did he drop it? I think we all know why.
