I use to like Hopkins a long time ago and I'm not really a fan of Jones Jr. but I think that Jones Jr would beat Hopkins again. Hopkins is not aggressive and that is taylor made for Jones Jr. I don't see anyone getting KO'd

In recent negotiations between the 2, Roy said that it should be 60/40 with the winner taking 60%. That makes alot of sense to me. Hopkins turned it down. The truth is, Hopkins doesn't want the fight.Roy's speed would give him fits and he knows it. He only looks good against slow footed/slowhanded plodders.

I happened to actually see the fight, and doubtless have forgotten more about boxing than you'll ever know.

I wonder why "******" is so popular an accusation amongst ignoramuses?

Probably because they are most familiar with it, that assuming the look in the mirror lots.

Good take. Roy is still faster than Hopkins and fights better on the inside than he ever did. He was forced to change his style up. The only thing Roy doesn't have anymore is his legs. But he still has more stamina than Hopkins.

I think Bernard would be getting caught a lot on the inside as he tries to hug on for dear life.

In fact Calzaghe won almost every round against hopkins who at a very early stage of the fight just concentrated on finishing on his feet.

LOL. Razor thin my ass. The vocal minority screams louder that's all. I've watched the fight 2 times myself and each time I had Calzaghe winning 7 rounds to 5. On every boxing site the majority thought Calzaghe won. It's fine if you think the decision should have gone to Hopkins, but I'm sure most who think he won are Hopkins nuthuggers, or didn't even watch the fight. Or convinced themselves Hopkins won because of his antics after the fight. Hell, if it wasn't for that one dingbat blind judge we wouldn't be having this ridiculous discussion A YEAR after the fight.

Tell me about it. I posted a comment on page 22, and whats weird is that your response was only to my last paragraph, lol, im new to this whole posting thing, but i didnt know you can respond to a specific portion of a person's comments. But I thought the phone call was in philly, and bernard called in, and Roy called from Houston. It doesnt make a difference though, unless your a Hopkins nut hugger, you can see that Hopkins doesnt want any part of Roy Jones. Hopkins has problems boxing guys that are faster and quicker than he is, showed against taylor twice, Roy Jones earlier, Calzaghe, and even winky wright (who was fighting like once every other leap year) was a handful for him. Bottom line, at this point in Hopkins career where he stated' "I just started to make some decent money and im not trying to take a step back" translation; Fighting Roy is high risk, low reward. One things for sure, he wouldnt dance circles outboxing and outclassing Jones the way he did Kelly Pavlik. So for B-hop to continue making his millions he needs to look good in the ring, the same way he did in his prior fight. Hopkins was never ever ever ever a big draw.He got more press and publicity for his comments he made during the calzaghe bout stating, "I'll never let a white boy beat me" then he did for his 20 straight middleweight defenses. So ill let bernard fool us into thinking that its more of a challenge to move up to cruiserweight, to fight slow, plodding, flat footed Thomas Adamek. Who in my opinion, Bernard beats on boxing IQ and ring savvy alone. At the end of the day, I believe that Roy can turn around and tell Bernard he'll take the 40%, and Bernard would still make up some ****ing excuse. The last thing he needs on his resume after dismantling Kelly Pavlik, is a loss to that shot fighter, who was knocked out twice by guys he beat on his record. This fight wont happen because B-hop cant risk it.

Roy stop it, no one wants to see your ass getting stomped by B-Hop, stay calm and keep fighting fellow shot fighters, that's very entertaining and better for yo health.

but how do you know that, i hate it when people say a "prime" roy jones would beat every fighter that he loses to, if thats the case whats the point of even fightin if when he gets whooped, all his fans are going to say is "oh in his prime he will win" how da hell do you know that, thats called guessing, glen johnson was never a chump or a pushover, calzaghe was always great and always had speed and tarver always threw down in his prime as well, so how do you know he will beat all those fighters? .
roy is coming off a spectacular performance vs jeff lacy, he looked damn good to me, but jeff lacy hasnt been the same since calzaghe took his soul. so would jones dominate lacy had they fought before lacy faced calzaghe? i mean come on, the way i see it , if you get in the ring then you shouuld be 100% ready, that whole "if he was in his prime" thing is BS, it holds no weight.
hopkins is not in his prime, but look at him still executing fighters at 46 yrs of age, so lets say the hopkiin-jones rematch happens and bhop knock jones head off his shoulders, what would u say "if roy was in his prime..blah, blah"
