I hate to generalize like this, so forgive me, not all of them are doing it of course, but it just seems like a lot of them are completely downplaying the Mayweather-Marquez card, despite the fact that it features two of the most skilled fighters in boxing today(dont harp on about the weight) and has a very good undercard, full of name fighters and potentially good matchups(most notably John-Juarez 2).
people harp on about the weight, which yes is something to consider, but Mayweather hasnt fought in about 2 years now, right? besides, Marquez has been weighing in over 140 on fight night for a while anyway. hes still obviously the smaller man, but dont exaggerate. yall were dead wrong when you said the same thing about Pacquiao-De La Hoya.
and even if Marquez is over his head because of the size differential and everything, you dont go through a fight with guys as talented as these two without being impressed with the skill level.
Im all for this PPV, it has a great undercard and theyre simply marketing it smart. I hope other big cards take note, and even improve on it.
