I'd much rather hear that from a fighter than someone who won't fight people because its not enough pay. I then prove your point wrong about you saying he NEVER called out Floyd, you then say well... he wasn't assertive enough about it. I'm a Cotto fan 100% he's my favorite boxer of all time, but I look at things from pure fact. Hardcore Cotto haters and hardcore Cotto fans are both on the extremes of each side and nothing either side says can be taken seriously. In the Clottey fight I had Cotto win and only because of the knockdown in the first round I had the fight even at 6 rounds a piece. The Mosley fight I had Cotto winning by 1 round, I absolutely loathe Mayweather as a person, I have the utmost respect for his skill, and had the DLH fight a draw and I'm a HUGE Oscar fan.
The point is you can be a fan but still look at things from an equal perspective, I find myself second guessing some scores in Cotto fights if I give him a round because I try to be as fair as possible. The hating and hugging goes both ways and you are on the extreme side of hating, you were proving wrong and trying to cover your facts. I have no problems being told that I was wrong about something if its provided with proof and in an intelligent manner. That being said I want to see proof of Arum saying he'd never want Cotto to fight Mayweather, that fight has $$$ all over it and Bob is too greedy for him to pass it up. The only person he will not do business with is Williams promoter which he has, never heard him turning down Mayweather. Also, if Arum doesn't want his fighter to fight a businessman what you are saying is we'll never see a Cotto/Paq vs Mayweather fight then?
Cotto and Mayweather are both to blame for the fight not happening. On one side you had Mayweather in his post fight interview with Hatton say he was going into retirement and he had nothing left to prove. Then Cotto makes a fight that wastes everyone's time with Alfonso Gomez. And in the post-interview of that fight, Steward even complained during the telecast of the aftermath of that fight that Cotto is not doing anything to help build interest in a fight with Mayweather. He should've personally called him out. Of course, the Cotto-Margarito fight was what Arum was angling to, but it's still the idea that Cotto said that it's up to his company regarding who he fights. I'm no Floyd fan as I mentioned earlier. But I look at both sides of the spectrum. And Mayweather was more arrogant about his replies to the media about not fighting worthy contenders, where Cotto never stooped that low. That's the only thing about your post that I agree with. And yeah, I've got my doubts about Pacquiao or Cotto fighting Mayweather. I think Pacquiao would make more of an effort to get it done than Cotto would though.

He then fires his trainer, completely ignoring the fact that his weight gain/loss runs a major toll on your body and its what hurt him more than anything else. Once Mayweather joins he takes on Paulie and he looked like garbage in that fight too, sure he won but it was anything but impressive, it was more like underwhelming, especially for who he was up against.
As for De La Hoya, I already stated why that fight was perfect for Paq. I'll say it again, Oscar has never won a mega-fight. He's won big fights like Quartey, Chavez, Vargas and I guess you could say Mayorga (Not really but I'll be nice, because I am an Oscar fan.) He lost to all his mega-fights, Tito, Hopkins, Mosley and Mayweather that's not exactly something I'd highlight in a resume. Secondly, Oscar lost like 4 of 6 fights leading up to that Manny fight and the two people he beat were Stevie Forbes and Mayorga, again not something that I'd highlight on a resume. Then in his fight before Paq, he won against Stevie Forbes but like Hatton with Paulie there was nothing that had me worry for Paq. I'm not going to say I was expecting Paq to win, I completely thought De La Hoya would, but I also wasn't expecting Manny to weigh more on the night of the fight. Everyone was thinking Oscar would be at least 155, most were thinking 160 that alone could have made the fight much different. Also I wouldn't exactly bring up Paq's last 4 fights, he barely won the 4th of which you speak which was Marquez, stick with the 3 where he was made to look like a beast.
discredit pacs opponents all you want but you are discrediting him because he demolished his opponents, and you dont want to beleive that he is that good. delahoya and hatton were supposed to be so much bigger than him, now they are overated wins and bums, get a clue.

As 7punch said. David Diaz made it further than Hatton and De La Hoya. David Diaz was a nobody with no skill. If Hatton cant even match what he did he was definitely an overrated fighter. Cmon the guy has no defense and no chin
