Pacquiao Knocking out Cotto doesnt make sense.

I hear all these predictions of Cotto being Knocked out by Pacquiao within 6-7 rounds someeven lower.

How does a completely drained Oscar De la Hoya stay on his feet with no problem?

How does Cotto take Everything Mosley Margarito and Clottey have to give but somehow cant take a natural 135lbers punches??

Some say speed. but Mosley fought 135 at one point and pretty much has the fastest hands at Welterweight. Cotto just timed him perfectly which will happen to the little filipino.

I dont get it!!! logic says that either the smaller man still adjusting to the heavier weight gets KOed or it goes the distance.

I say Cotto KOs pac in 6 rounds.

Beristains just salty that both his fighters couldnt pull a W on the Pacman

I know what you mean, but dont under-estimate the Pac, Iv'e got a strange feeling he's going to give us another upset. It does seem as though Pac knocking out Cotto is abit far fetched but anything can happen! No matter what I think were going to get a suprise, in either fighters. Example Pac just destroys Cotto with his speedy accurate punching, or Cotto just walks through them throwing disgusting body shots! Its going to be a warrrr!

Pac TKO's Cotto in the 7th.

Thing is Im not counting pacquiao out since in boxing anything can happen.

But the chances that pacquiao has of knocking out Cotto are slim to none

Ill give pacquiao a good chance of winning by decision but he will take some heat and I dont think hes ever faced a puncher like Cotto. He will get knocked out or down even busted up in the process.

My gut feeling is Pacquaio knocks him out, i just have this feeling Cotto is gonna look painfully slow next to this little Turbo Buzzsaw and this horrible vision of a Manny right hook Cotto dont see coming stunning him then Pac ploughing in with the full arsenal to end it, Manny Pac is a great finnisher.

Ur right tho logic points to a Cotto win, Miguel is bigger stronger has fought guys as fast as Pac and timed them great, has far more power than JMM who had Manny hurt at one point and has the calmness that comes with experiance.

Problem is I think everyone is underestimating Cotto and overestimating Pacquiaos last two wins.

at least roach knows its gonna be hard

MANILA, Philippines - Freddie Roach has started doing his homework in anticipation of a big match between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 in Las Vegas.

The three-time Trainer of the Year told the Philippine radio program Sports Chat that Cotto, the WBO welterweight champion, is no pushover as others would think.

“He is a very strong fighter and puncher. We have to pay attention to that. That is my biggest worry,” he said of Cotto, who’s younger, taller and heavier.

Roach, the hottest trainer in the sport today, is not wasting time.

“We have to come up with a game plan to defeat this guy. I studied his fights last night. I’m going to see his previous fights and see if we could pick up some habits that we can take advantage of.”

Negotiations for the fight are on, and Top Rank’s Bob Arum, who handles both boxers, said it’s close to being sealed. He said it should be done next week.

Roach feels it’s just a matter of time before the fight is formalized, whether it’s held at 145 lb or less, and whether Pacquiao gets 65 percent or everything or more.

Pacquiao, at 30 two years older, should concentrate on the body if he wants to chop down Cotto early. Nacho Beristain, the Mexican trainer, believes that Cotto may go down in six rounds.

“Manny should take advantage of the body. He’s not strong to the body. He has a pretty good chin. He can take punches in the head. But I think we have to break him down in the earlier rounds and work at the body a lot,” said Roach.

Pacquiao was at ringside when Cotto survived Josh Clottey a few weeks ago at the Madison Square Garden, and he probably liked what he saw – a beatable 147 lb champion.

“I think it is a hard fight for us. But I think it is a winnable fight. I think Manny can now box him,” Roach said.

“Whether it is 143, 144 or 145 pounds, it does not matter. I have no problem with 145 pounds. Cotto is a welterweight champion of the world. When we fought Oscar (Dela Hoya) at 147, he was not a world champion. Miguel would be the toughest fight to date at least on paper.”

Another concern for Roach is what people might say after Pacquiao, who has won his last four fights in different weight classes, beats the Puerto Rican champ.

He said Dela Hoya was favored to win against Pacquiao but when the American legend lost in eight rounds people came up with excuses.

“They say he (Dela Hoya) is going to kill Manny. After the fight, they say he is old. After we beat Cotto, what are they going to say?,” Roach told Sports Chat.

Yeah I totally agree. Pac is in for a shock when it comes to Cotto's punches, but Cotto got hurt in the Clottey fight and was an easy target (I know his he couldnt see out of left eye), and Pacquiao will defintly land.. ALOT. They way he knocked out Hatton was just disturbing, and I know Cotto's a whole different beast, but a punch like that on a fighter just 7 pounds heavier can really hurt more than people think. I dont think Pac will knock him out, but he is going to hurt Cotto.

You gotta consider who he was fighting in his last fight man. I mean yea helooked like the same in the jennings fight but Clottey is the second toughest fighter at WW. You cant expect to look good in anyway against that guy. its gonna be an uphill battle from start to finish
