this is one fight I'm scared for pacquiao tho'...i knew he'd destroy hatton with no doubt.. just the clash of styles... I'll only be scared for pac in the 1st half of this fight... if he gets past 6 or 7 against cotto then he'll finish cotto down the stretch.. cotto has been known to go on survival mode... its tough to survive against Pacman... cotto is gonna need smarts in this fight, not his size... but SMARTS..

This right here is the biggest misconception about Cotto, that he fades which is flat out wrong. The only fight where he truly faded was against Marg and that was 1 out of his 34(?) professional fights of which was tainted. Look how many times Cotto has KO'd people 7 or later (boo I need more posts to put the link, just google it, I found it on boxingrec) The reason people think he fades is because his last 3 long fights he's gone to boxing near the end after he realizes that coming forward no longer works for him and it confuses his opponent. Its nothing more than a change of pace, its a new strategy and it works for him he did win 2/3 fights he used that tactic in.

Hell, if he had his boxing skills he has now in the Judah fight he might not have looked like he did at the end. That fight alone shows that to keep coming forward, especially against fast opponents isn't the best idea. Its easily the reason he won both the Clottey and Mosley fight. Once he had those guys chase him he was catching them as they were punching or slipping then nailing them with a counter. Its great strategy, his opponents are thinking defense then he has them switch to offensive mode and they never really get the time to adjust.

I see this fight going backwards from Cotto's previous fights though. I think he is going to box Manny first for the first 3 or 4 rounds. Then he's going to go the body and pressure Manny till about 8th, then box again till the 11th and 12th and that's when he's going to let loose all he has. Not saying the fight is going to go that way but it would be how I would fight Manny. Take some rounds to really feel out what he is going to do, wear him down, let him think he's coming back in the fight again and then test his will with mine the last two rounds, this fight is going to be a war I can't wait. Also, Cotto is also a natural lefty and he can fight southpaw if need be, I see him switching up stances this fight to help neutralize Manny's left.

How does a completely drained Oscar De la Hoya stay on his feet with no problem?

How does Cotto take Everything Mosley Margarito and Clottey have to give but somehow cant take a natural 135lbers punches??

Some say speed. but Mosley fought 135 at one point and pretty much has the fastest hands at Welterweight. Cotto just timed him perfectly which will happen to the little filipino.

I dont get it!!! logic says that either the smaller man still adjusting to the heavier weight gets KOed or it goes the distance.

I say Cotto KOs pac in 6 rounds.

Beristains just salty that both his fighters couldnt pull a W on the Pacman

Anything is possible, no matter how obsurd it might be...

But base on your premise after the fight that just in case Pac KO Cotto within 6. There would only be two conclusions.

          1. Dela Hoya is not that weight drained as you guys think he is on that fight
          night.
          2. Cotto <<<<<< Weight Drained Dela Hoya. (Ouch!)

Hmm I don't think Pac will care if he loses or win.. this might be his probably the latest fight he'll ever have. Cotto knows he has to kill Pac and that he has to be careful when doing so.

Cotto is great, but he's getting KTFO by Pacquiao. Pacquiao has barely felt a punch in his last three fights. Contrast that with Miguel Cotto's last three.

Also Cotto's style is somewhat tailormade for Pacman. Look at how Cotto bends his entire upperbody over his lead foot. Pacman will not miss him with left hands coming straight down the pipe.

I just don't see too many ways Cotto wins this fight. He can't afford to take damage from Pac b/c he's already somewhat BUSTED (thanks to margs and clottey).

Pac will finish him off in devastating fashion. I won't be happy b/c Cotto is a warrior and I wish his mgmt team were smart enough to match him with Berto instead of Pac.

it goes against all logic. But Pac has done the unthinkable in his career. No one thought he'd KO hatton in 2 rounds and knock him down twice in the first. Unthinkable. No one thought he'd STOP oscar de la hoya. Pac keeps going against logic, which is what makes him one of the greats.

I wouldn't bet money on Pac winning by KO, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it happens.

Also, Pac seems to be at his absolute peak right now, he has everything peaking at the right time as far as his skills, physical form and his mentality. Cotto, well I don't think I can say the same. He might be on the downslope just a tad. We shall see.

Contrast last opponents. Diaz De la Hoya and hatton. Margarito Jennings and Clottey.

The difference is evident. pacquiao hasnt felt **** cause he fought nobodys.

I dont understand agan how Mosley and Clottey cant KO Cotto but somehow Pacqiao can.

                    Lets see
First off he is a natural135-40 lber. The true welters are much much bigger like Mosley Cotto Margarito. They all come in at fight night round 160lbs.

Pacquiao comes in at 148. That right htere is abig difference alone. Cotto is also much stronger than Pacquiao and has a solid chin at 147. Pacquiao hasnt even been tested. So I dont know what you guys are saying about KTFO.

I feel ike people are giving Cotto a less of a chance than they did to Hatton.

If anyone was taylor made for pacuqiao it was Hatton. Cottos style causes major problems. He counterpunches and goes to the body hard. Pac will be scared as hell o let his hands fly once he feels the power

Logic said he was supposed to beat Hatton whihc he did. It was a horrible style match up. Hattonw as taylor made for the overrated englishman with no defense andwho leads with his chin De La Hoya was surprise but not so much when he tipped the scales before the fight.

I knew that was going to happen once i seen how drained and ****ty he looked.

Pacquiao came in heavier than Oscar fight night.

All in all predictable given the situation.

This time hes fighting a comfortable elite at WELTERWEIGHT! Not junior welter not a drained fighter from 154. hes comfortable and in his prime
