actually beristain is an elite trainer and has forgotten more than you know, that said, he obviously has some kinda agenda even though he makes some valid points.

Tell me who has pac fought who boxed and was in his prime, am jmm and he tied and lost too. Cotto vs pac dont care for but floyd vs pac i wanna see. Putting perceptions aside floyd is the greates boxer of our times. Problem is that to reg spectators he looks boring but to true boxing fans he is a technical genious
YEAH! Greatest Runner! He runs away from great fights because he's afraid to lose. He retired because he don't wan't to fight Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, and Williams. Then returned to fight a lightweight in JMM.

What Nacho is really saying is that he doesn't respect Puerto Rican boxing. He also sounds like if had a real fighter like Cotto he can finally beat the Pacboy.

Whats gonna play the biggest role in Cottos win is the Timing and power. Pacquiao will be reluctant to let his hands fly gauranteed. Cotto has the handspeed ot catch Pacquiao most definitely.

Beristain just feels if both his fighters couldnt do it than nobody can BUT Oscar was shot and drained and Marquez really did beat pacquiao at least once.

Do you really believe that Cotto's fist is fast enough to accurately hit Pacquiao? Is his handspeed as fast as Marquez'? Pacquiao don't have to KO Miguel to win.

What Nacho is saying is right. Cotto has not been the same since the Margarito fight. A lot of that maybe due to him splitting with his long time trainer and uncle Evanglista. It doesn't help when you have turmoil going on in your camp. It also doesn't help that he still doesn't have a real trainer either. Joe is his nutritionist, and that does not sub for having a bonafid trainer that knows how to prepare a game plan for a fight against Pacquiao.

The importance for having a good trainer heading into this fight are cruial. Roach is very smart and very good at picking apart fighters weakness and then exploiting them during fight night. When it comes down to it: Roach will study hours of tape before this fight even takes place, and then he'll put together a game plan that's going to make Pacquiao extremely hard to beat. Manny come fight night will come in as sharp as a razor and well prepared for what ever Cotto is going to throw at him. Now on the flip side of things: Will Cotto’s camp be able to put together a strategy like Freddie Roach? I bet my money on the answer being hell no! Joe is not a trainer, and until Cotto addresses this issue, he's going to keep following into the same old habits (just the way he did when he fought Clottey). Mirror image of what he looked like when he fought Margarito. To fall into the same habits against a fighter like Pacquaio who gets better the deeper the fight goes could spell doom for Cotto. Pacquaio's a lot faster and alot more relentless and precise with his punchs then both Margarito and Clottey are. If Cotto doesn't iron out some of the issues he has as far as his trainer, stamina and technique goes then a possible KO by Pacquaio wouldn't be out of the question.

I said fast enough to accurately hit. If you believe Cotto's hand is way faster than JMM, that's your opinion. But I don't believe so. But you admit he's not as accurate as JMM. Fast and accurately fast is two different things. Cotto's handspeed may be fast but if it can't hit accurately, it will do no damage. I will also make it clear that hit and accurately hit is different too. Hitting at the right place at the right time is very hard if your target is Pacquiao.

How about footspeed and footwork? Is Cotto way faster than JMM? You know.. Cotto needs to be near Pacquiao to land his fist. And position his feet properly to hit ACCURATELY. He can't just detach his arms and throw it on Pacquiao to hit him.

FAST and ACCURATELY FAST is two different things. You may have fast handspeed but can't hit the target, it can't do no damage. It's difficult to accurately hit a moving target like Pacquiao.
