Its more of a salty taste in his mouth than an actual true analysis. because a 6th round KO isnt giving Cotto that much of a chance. I feel rounds 4-10 Cotto looks the best in his fights. which is completely contrary to what Nacho believes.
Yes anything can happen in boxing BUT Miguel Cotto shouldnt be overlooked ata ll.
If De La Hoya can go 8 rounds dehyrated and shot than I dont know why a prime Cotto who is comfortable at welterweight cant hang in there 6.
In fact i don't agree with him. I even agree with you that cotto shouldn't be overlooked. The main reason DLH lasted 8 rounds because Pacquiao respected DLH and DLH's power. This is also the reason why i disagree with Nacho. Pac will respect Cotto's power. It will last more than 6. It might even go full distance. But i won't be surprised if Pac KO's Cotto early the same way Cotto KO's Pac early.
What i'm telling him is don't call somebody names just because you don't agree with him. Just because he said something against your idol

Cotto brings enough speed to time Pacquiao and a great chin at 147 none of the top welters have been able to floor him. Pacquiao overshot his abilities and his time is up. Cottos Jab alone will make the difference in the fight.
I agree with you though that Pacquiao overshot his abilities. He is fighting way above his natural weight. But that's where the money is. He can't stay at JW and fight a nobody.
Is Pacquiao's time is up? I don't think so. He has enough abilities to win against Cotto.
Each has its own strength and weaknesses. That's why we are arguing now. That's what make great fights.
But at the same time each is entitled to his opinion.

even if cotto ko's pac in 1st round i won't be disappointed. pac took a risk, a very risky one, in fighting a much bigger(pullcounter said 10 lbs heavier on fight night) very good champion. he has no choice because that's where the money is. but its a risk worth taking.
after the fight, he will run for congress. he invested his money wisely that could secure his future to last several lifetime if he chooses to retire. there will still be megafights offer if he chooses to go on fighting.
if cotto losses to a smaller boxer. i don't know what his future will be.

but its a risk worth taking. He has no choice but to fight at ww. that's where the money is. he will laugh all the way to the bank.

I doubt it. You believe Cotto can. That's ok coz your a Cotto. I can't take that away from you. But I believe that Cotto has to be as fast and as accurate as JMM to win. If he can do that, he will win by KO. Cotto is much stronger than anybody pac has fought. I agree Cotto is not Hatton or DLH. That's why i also believe Cotto is the toughest pac opponent ever. Cotto has always a chance to put down pac if pac gets careless. But at this point, the way things are going on in Cotto's camp, I don't think he can train to be as fast and as accurate as JMM. Because of that, I favor pac on this fight. Don't have to be by KO
And whoever mentioned Corley, this was when Cotto was at 140 and still raw as a fighter we're talking like 14 or 15 fights ago. Lets see how well Paq was doing that long ago, I don't even think he was on the radar at that point. And if he was Paq was much further into his career than Cotto was at the time. That fight was exactly what my initial post was in reference to anyway, Cotto has shown flaws but that's because he is in there with people to exploit them thus making Cotto better by working on what was shown in those fights. That fight was a perfect example of over aggression and its safe to say Cotto has certainly learned from that experience. And as previously stated, that isn't the same Cotto as it is now just as the Paq that fought Morales in the first fight isn't the same fighter. Speaking of which Paq lost that fight because he too also suffered a horrific cut from a clash of heads just as Cotto did. Both of these guys have heart that few others have and makes for an awesome awesome fight.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 06-29-2009, 10:25 PM.
