almost had him down in the 7th and Zab was getting beat so bad
he had to find a way out of the fight. To me that power must have
been a lot to stomach. I think Clottey is being underestimate a lil
in this upcoming fight. Miguel Cotto is indeed a good fighter but
Clottey is durable and has yet to show signs of being hurt in a
fight. He said after the Zab fight "No one has ever hurt me" and
Cotto has yet to effectively hurt or back up a durable WW in a fight
(Mosley/Margarito) with his power. Clottey is bigger and has a longer
reach. If Clottey applies pressure how he is stating then I give him
more than a positive chance of beating Cotto.
Yeah good post man, you bring up good points. This is definitely a tough fight for Miguel and Clottey is definitely a strong, durable, full fledged WW with excellent defense.

Pressure goes hand in hand with work rate. Can't have one without the other. I don't think Clottey is going to bring the required work rate though.

For the Judah fight Clottey I was frustrated by his inability to throw punches. He would pressure Judah by coming forward and yet allowed Judah to get off way too many times IMO by not throwing punches. He can't win like that against Cotto.

We both seem to agree that pressure and work rate is the key to having the best chance of beating Miguel. I guess we disagree on Clottey being able to put forth that kind of effective pressure.

My champ went out on his shield like a proud Mexican warrior rather than take a knee, but then again what difference does that make right? if you think the way he lost against Mosley had anything to do with not having "plaster" you are being delirious. Mosley had the tools to beat him and fought a near perfect fight, unlike Quitto who had the wrong gameplan all along against Tony. Margarito in the end was tailor made for Shane as much as Quitto was made for Tony.

But whatever, it's pointless to argue about it, you see things one way and I see things in another way, there is no balance or rationalization when it comes to these two fighters. I can't make anyone respect Tony after what happened and I partially understand so.

Me however, have been his fan for many years and give him the benefit of the doubt and will continue to support him throughout what's left of his career, that is the path I chose, you want to bash me or him, go ahead it's your choice, you think I give a ****?

It all depends too on which Clottey shows up. The defensive Clottey may make it a little more difficult for Cotto to get in, but he'll leave his body exposed too. If Clottey gets on the offensive 1st his best bet would be to tire out Cotto, but Clottey isn't the best conditioned fighter as seen in his past fights.
Yeah I definitely don't think Clottey would put him to sleep with one shot, I'm thinkin if Clottey starts to get a rhythm and starts connecting frequently. Cause he is accurate, pretty fast, and fairly strong. I'd be worried if Cotto starts to break down a little bit. Especially if those shots cause Cotto to move more, cause once Cotto started moving in the Margarito fight he got severely fatigued come the later part of the fight. But yeah, it's not like Cotto won't be able to find Clottey all night, after readin that I can see Cotto dealin with Clottey as well. lol This is why I don't bet on fights, **** is crazy.

Will that same Cotto ever show up in the ring again after such a brutal, plaster filled beating? I don't know. We'll find out I guess in this fight.

You tell me who's really wheeping here, Pancho
Then tell me my good man, why do they still bash or care so much about a man who supposedly has a "tarnished win" against their favorite fighter? they can't seem to let go of it and take whatever opportunity to keep the flames alive of something that should be forgotten since Margarito is paying the price right? it sounds more like sadism to me than anything else.
