if clottey has a chin as hard as margarito, he will get past cotto because he is a pressure fighter. if he has not, he will end up losing. surely, he will. but this would be a good fight.
clottey loves to box and cotto wants to counter. both loves to go to the body. this would be a good fight. i see this fight as better than the mayweather-marquez drama.
cotto by decision.

night the bigger pressure fighter won the duel. ****m gave Mosley
a sound plan to beat Margarito by neutralizing his pressure and
Cotto didn't/couldn't do that. Watch the fight again and when
they interview Mosley after the Marg KO. Mosley hardly got hit
but when he did he said he felt it. Cotto got hit clearly too much
in his fight. I'm not talking about the plaster I'm talking about
how Cotto fought from the beginning of the bell. He never paced
himself and got burned out halfway through the fight & that's when
Margarito took over and for the record Cotto never hurt Margarito.
Cotto also never was able to adapt and come up with an effective
plan to get to the body. Mosley started off with setting up the
body shots. Cotto would land a devastating 2, 3 punch combination
and move away giving Margarito time to recover and jog towards
him. Cotto never took the fight to Margarito and that is why
Margarito was able to keep the pressure on Cotto. Cotto was
asked after the fight "Why didn't you clinch or hold?" and Cotto
said "Because that is not boxing"? Come on man, Cotto just
didn't fight smart aside from the speculation of the Plaster.
Anyway I found Cotto's plan perfect IMO. I would see that did EXACTLY the same plan but like you said CLINTCH and work the body. I just dont understand how one min hes fine and the next his face is destroyed and hes kneeling over in the corner as if a bat hit him in the face. Mosley was HIT a few times just as hard. nota. Now yes he didnt get as much but he wasnt effected like Cotto was....
But back to my ORGINAL point. Clottely in no way will amount to what Marg did to him cheating or not. Cotto out boxes him for the win. I dont see a KO but a nice highlight reel for both.

Number 1 & 2 Welter weight who have a close fight and
#1 KO'd the guy that beat #2 but #2 beat #1? That
fight has make it happen written all over it. After
Cotto/Clottey IF Cotto wins he needs to fight Mosley
because Floyd is fighting JMM in July and then going
for Pac and Pac is gunning for Floyd, no matter if
Arum don't want it to happen or not, it's going to
happen. Cotto/Mosley to determine who's the
real man at 147 then the winner takes on Pac/Floyd
winner......That's the biggest you can go right there.
I think Cotto will not be willing to give Margarito another
shot because he don't respect the bull **** Margarito
pulled. IF Clottey beats Cotto, then Clottey enters
the loop and Shane or Berto needs to man up and
fight him. Clottey was also talking about taking on
Paul Williams!!! Now that's a fight that needs to
get made.I think Cotto will not be willing to give Margarito another
shot because he don't respect the bull **** Margarito
pulled.

i don't remember him saying that
mosley said he wouldn't know how hard margo punched because he wasn't hit much.
definitely the rematch will determine if he cheated against cotto, but will cotto make that fight again?
O well who cares a rematch needs to happen...

I give one big prop to Cotto and that is he always comes to fight and doesn't duck anyone.
