These are "FACTS". Floyd did what he had to do and maybe it wasn't all his fault all these fights didn't happen when they should have but you guys are going overboard because an All Time Great did what he was supposed to do.....in 6 years.

I guess he can only beat what's in front of him and perhaps that isn't very much in this era which he is certainly the best of.
There's literally an excuse for every Mayweather win. Before he fights said opponents, he's scared of them. After he beats them there's some excuse that people didn't seem to think about before the fight. The revisionist history on this site is hilarious.

I keep seeing this but like I've said the list was made in 2009.

The Margarito fight had already happened and Pacquaio-Cotto was already signed. How could he fight him then?

Mosley got signed literally as soon as it could after this list was made.

His next 3 fights after this article were all fighters on the "list".

Yes, they had all lost before. There aren't too many undefeated fighters at that level. Mayweather beat all of those fighters when they were pound for pound or still elite. Where did you have them ranked?

Did Miguel Cotto's performance against Mayweather look like one of a shot fighter? Sure didn't to me.

Mosley was coming off a one sided beatdown of the top welter in the world. Had he been off? Absolutely. Mayweather had one fight in the past three years going in, a sparring session against an ex-lightweight. Besides, how was Floyd to know which Shane would enter the ring? Just not a good reason to downplay the win.

As far as Pacquiao, this fight could've happened five years ago. It didn't. It did however, occur while both were still pound for pound. And that's that. So yeah, these are excellent accomplishments and I'd love to see the names of all the other fighters who managed to pull something like this off.

you get a much more realistic look at a fighter's accomplishemtns and abilities when you're looking into the past, not the future...

            good grief.

            cotto was faded
            mosley was faded
            manny was faded
            de la hoya was faded

            maidana was prime
            ortiz was prime
            guerrero was prime
            judah was prime

you see a pattern here, surely.

margarito was caught loading his gloves for the mosley fight. cotto had just beaten mosley within the last year.

do you believe margarito's win over cotto and ranking as the top welterweight on the planet was legitimate?

shane's career renaissance was a mirage. it's not shane's fault. he stopped an iron chinned fighter, and should get some credit. that iron chinned fighter had been using bricks in his gloves to get his ranking.

cotto had taken a life changing beating against said brick user in '08. in '09 he took another one against pacquiao. he lost to austin trout immediately following the mayweather fight. austin freaking trout!

finally, we'll onto pacquiao, who even you will acknowledge is shot. buboy thought manny was dead when marquez knocked him out. he was out of it for several minutes. that kind of trauma changes your life, particularly if you box aggressively for a living.
you and dan keep referring to his "elite p4p status" while ignoring the fact that he's f#cking shot. he hasn't had a meaningful win since he got robbed against bradley in their first fight. bradley's looked weathered since the ruslan fight.

But the mass of people in this thread saying he would never fight any of them knew Cotto had his brains bashed in by Margarito and he was already signed to fight Pacquaio.

The Mosley fight literally happened as soon as it possibly could after this article was written.

I don't understand why points keep getting brought up before this article was written. That's the whole point it's getting bumped because when he made the "hitlist" no one believed he would fight any of them let alone all of them.

As for Pacquaio being shot. That's just ridiculous, IMO.

a lot of savvy boxing people, myself included, expected these fights to happen when mayweather's opponents slowed down. that's exactly what happened.
