Why? because in America that term "African American" usually applies to a black person, but that sounds as though you are saying that if that persons skin tone is black or mixed race they must come from Africa. Which is dumb because there are also white Africans.

The term "African-American" is ******. 25% of Americans have African blood, and a HUGE percentage of Blacks in the US have European or Native American heritage as well. Guys like Roy Jones, Kobe Bryant, and the BROWN BOMBER Joe Louis have a solid amount of white blood in them. Are they suddenly, "Part African American".

afrikan american is a ****** term used after black conciousness expanded so the man created african american to segregate us from eachother..further proof is that west indian afrikans may get a catagory "caribbean american" its all a divide and conquer method...Petey tosh said if you black than you afrikan and its really as simple as that
