Exactly, Shane had a hell of a time trying to hit Cotto late in their fight, when Miguel got on his bicycle.

The point is, Margarito could've made much more money fighting Cotto, rather than Williams, and who cares about getting stripped when you can fight an easier fight for another title? (If according to you, he was getting OWNED in sparring with Wiliams.)

cotto is a great body puncher man.....body punchers just don't "fall in love with headshots, all of a sudden." watch the post fight interviews, or read the transcripts.....it was asked of cotto WHY he didn't go to margarito's body more.....and i don't remember his EXACT words, but it was something like, "the way margarito was fighting," or the way "margarito was holding his hands..." he WASN'T ABLE to get to his body. trust me man, i'm not making it up....

Quintana already showed, that if you give Williams angles, you can cut his work rate and can go to the inside without getting hit much.!!!!!!!!1
winky's not as slick as cotto is anymore, but winky is a MUCH better defensive fighter than cotto is. alot of those shots winky blocked, cotto will get hit with, and he can be hurt. cotto will give more offense than winky gave, no doubt, but cotto will be "there" to be hit more also.

i haven't checked how much he made fighting mosley, but that williams' fight was margarito's BIGGEST payday to date.....don't get caught up in all the "williams brings nothing to the table" nonsense.

williams was margarito's mandatory, and the plan was for margarito to beat him, and fight cotto AS A BELTHOLDER ALSO, so he would be able to get a better deal than he would've gotten w/o a belt.

Is not that he coulndt, it was the fight pln and the desicion he did to go head hunting.
No dont make shyt up after the fight Cotto said' It was impossible to get to Margaritos body".

If Cottos goes aftrer Williams body he leaves hiself open to vicious power shots to the head.

Cotto cant win this fight short of a miracle.

He said, that he couldnt get to Margaritos body, because margarito covered well the body. But if you watch the fight, nd forget what he said. margarito was wide open for Body shots, Cotto just felt in lovve with body shots. And the corner also never said anything about body punches.

Again, Quintana gave angles and cuted Williams Punch output in half. And got to the inside fairely easy. And Quintana is not a defesive master.

If Cotto gives Williams angles, he wont get hit as much as Winky did. Because Winky was comming straiht forward, withou any type of head movent.

Firts watch the fight again, and youll see margo was open to body ****s, Cotto just fell in love with teh head ****s, end off.

Scond if Cotto gets close enough to hit Williams to the body, Williams size and reach will play against him because he wont the space to punch Cotto!!!!!!

i don't use that quintana fight, because more than anything, it was a fluke....

not really a fluke, but it was a case of one guy preparing, and one guy not. in the post fight interview, quintana even stated, "I told Paul Williams not to overlook me."

williams didn't take quintana seriously the first fight anybody can beat anybody when someone's not prepared.....they can fight 5 more times, and williams stops quintana five more times.

Williams was a virtual nobody when he fought Margarito. Tony could've made much more fighting Cotto for another title. Those two facts are undeniable.

come on man, cotto would've just admitted, "i didn't go to the body, and it was my mistake...." why would he lie and say he COULDN'T?

one major criticism of williams, is that he likes to fight "on the inside" when he should use his size, and not.

cotto gets inside, he won't be the only one punching......williams likes to mix it up.

And one of Williams most powerful, sneaky and fast punches is one that Cotto stil has no defense for...THE UPPERCUT.
