To be P4P number one either you have to entirely dominated your division or beat top fighters in multiple divisions.

VCalero have a long way to be number 1 P4P
I never said Valero should be the p4p1 right now, LOL.

I said, If given the opportunity he easily could have, in my opinion. Barrera already admitted Valero beats him, Morales might have beaten him the 1st time they fought, like he beat Pacquiao, but I'm 100% sure he would have beaten that washed up version of Morales that lost to Raheem, Pacquiao, and Diaz.

Valero destroyed Oscar de la Hoya in sparring. A super-featherweight beating Oscar at welterweight makes you p4p1. The sad fact, and one HBO is not revealing, is that the "amazing Armstrong-esque feat that Pacquiao did" could have been done by several small boxers, but they never got the opportunity due to them not having the right promoter. Does this mean the super-featherweight division is flooded with modern day Henry Armstrongs? Of course not! I say this, because HBO claimed Pac's win over Oscar made him a modern day Armstrong. eek!

Erik Morales, a friend of Pacquiao, who even went to the Philippines for commercials and his vacation, has said the Oscar fight was a joke and almost anyone could have beaten him. In that same interview, he boldly predicted that Hatton will beat Pacquiao, simply based on two things. "He's strong at his weight and he can punch". Barrera is good friends with Hatton, and Barrera of course is the enemy of Morales. I find his prediction a bit interesting.

I guess you didnt see the interview when he said PAC would surely lose and Pac aint big enough.
back to topic those were practice to make the other guys be better by fight time. Mental aspect isnt the same. if your point is Valero has Potential so be it but if you think he should be commended just because of those percieved gym Win i disagree and think its dumb

Everyone said Oscar would win, we expected him to enter the ring at 160lbs, just like his business partner, Shane Mosley, who entered the ring at 160lbs against Margarito at Welterweight.

What Oscar did was enter the ring at only 145lbs! That is actually less than the weight of Pacquiao when he fought in the 130lb division. I can guarantee you if everyone knew what Valero knew, that Oscar was not really training, was easy to hit in sparring, and that he'd enter the ring weighing less than your average lightweight, we surely would have not have called this fight a mismatch in any way.

What matters is after the fact, after everything was exposed for what it is, that Morales made his statement. I'm sure he was shocked, just as everyone was, at just how much of a joke and farce the fight was, seeing a weight drained zombie performing worse than your local gym amateur with the winner being praised as a modern Henry Armstrong. I'm sure that was very insulting to professional boxers such as Morales.

I prefer the good old days of boxing, when at least the commentators were honest. I remember the Sugar Ray Leonard vs Thomas Hearns fight at welterweight. The commentator, before the fight even started, said he was "worried about Hearns, he only weighed in at 145lbs and he would probably be weak in the later half of the fight". Sure enough, Leonard, who was losing, rallied back for a late round TKO win on an exhausted Hearns who appeared to have lost his legs!

Get your facts straight that was his weigh-in weight the day before he was 147 according to the "unofficial" HBO weigh in.

Get your facts straight watch the first two rounds and tell me if Oscar was a Zombie....what was the punch stats by then? was it so far by then....Didnt PAC's speed and Power contribute to Oscar quitting.................

I suggest you get your facts straight! It was later revealed, by Schaeffer, that Oscar was not weighed in with only his trunks, he was actually weighed with his robe on at the unofficial same day weigh-in. He said Oscar didn't rehydrate a single pound since the previous night that he weighed in at 145lbs at the official weigh-in.

I saw the fight in Vegas. Yes, Oscar was severely dehydrated and was dazed after the very first punch Pacquiao landed on him. Anyone could have beat him that night. Roach himself admitted that they knew they won the fight before the first round. He based it off of Oscar having IV marks in his arms, not being able to even run at the race track, and looking gaunt. Roach even said that Oscar is so washed up, that he suggested him retire now, because he expects Oscar to lose his next fight regardless of the opponent chosen. Roach even jokingly said, "even I can beat Oscar in his next fight".

T.S. youre giving too much credit to sparring match and downplay actual fight where in PAc fought 2 weight division up.....talk about double standard..........LOL

Speculations just like your gym war theory at best.....

Two weight divisions up? On paper yes, but in reality, umm, NO!

Here are the facts. Oscar was 167lbs unofficially against Mayweather. He was 145lbs against Pacquiao.

Pacquiao was 147lbs against Marquez. He's been fighting at that weight for several years now. He only had to gain 1lb to fight Oscar at welterweight.

The way I look at it, is that the fight was at welterweight, but there were no welterweights in the ring. Oscar weighed less than your average lightweight! Oscar lost 22lbs from his proper division, while Pacquiao only gained 1lb from his proper division.

There is no double standard. Pacquiao beat the corpse in the ring, Valero beat the corpse in Big Bear. Just the facts.

A corpse throwing the same amount of punches the first two rounds?
                      Schaefers words are Facts?
Sparring matches should be getting more credit than actual fights?

those arent facts those are an excuse from a so called "professional" who quit after talking so much crap...."I would consider it a failure if i dont KO him", "IM gonna take his heart out" etc.........with an ALL star team...LOL
