I said, If given the opportunity he easily could have, in my opinion. Barrera already admitted Valero beats him, Morales might have beaten him the 1st time they fought, like he beat Pacquiao, but I'm 100% sure he would have beaten that washed up version of Morales that lost to Raheem, Pacquiao, and Diaz.
Valero destroyed Oscar de la Hoya in sparring. A super-featherweight beating Oscar at welterweight makes you p4p1. The sad fact, and one HBO is not revealing, is that the "amazing Armstrong-esque feat that Pacquiao did" could have been done by several small boxers, but they never got the opportunity due to them not having the right promoter. Does this mean the super-featherweight division is flooded with modern day Henry Armstrongs? Of course not! I say this, because HBO claimed Pac's win over Oscar made him a modern day Armstrong. eek!
Erik Morales, a friend of Pacquiao, who even went to the Philippines for commercials and his vacation, has said the Oscar fight was a joke and almost anyone could have beaten him. In that same interview, he boldly predicted that Hatton will beat Pacquiao, simply based on two things. "He's strong at his weight and he can punch". Barrera is good friends with Hatton, and Barrera of course is the enemy of Morales. I find his prediction a bit interesting.
