Also, he had planned long ago to retire in November - the fact that he reconsidered for two months is a compliment to Dawson - he wouldn't have even considered postponing his retirement for anyone else.

Jones does nothing for his legacy but he had wanted to fight Jones for years, but for whatever reason (boxing politics, because he was tied to Showtime, Roy was tied to HBO, and because Warren screwed it up) it didn't come off; and he genuinely thought after the Trinidad fight that Jones still had something left in the tank after all. He fought Jones because of what it meant to him, not for some mythical legacy.

In any case, before the Jones fight, most people were saying he should fight Pavlik rather than Jones, very few were saying he should fight Dawson back then.
I appreciate you answer those without crying, im gonna do a ********* hunt on rainbow 6 vegas, get really pissed off, then prolly come back and answer these if need be.

Yeah right! More like because Jones wasn't shot yet and Calzahe knows he would have got KTFONice job trying to convince yourself though!

Calzaghe won the fight cos idiot judges give rounds to a guy based on how many punches he throws, they dont care if they land or not. If you score that fight on CLEAN and EFFECTIVE punches LANDED.

Calzaghe didnt win that fight, thus why some wanna see a rematch.
It was on the basis of the punches that landed, not on the basis of the punches thrown. You're entitled to your opinion about who won the fight, but don't pretend the judges go on punches thrown, that's a silly thing to say. Hopkins landed the cleaner and more effective punches, but too few of them to deserve to win in the opinion of not only the official judges, but also of many boxing experts. The Ring scored it to Calzaghe. HBO scored it to Calzaghe. Many other boxing experts scored it to Calzaghe. You might think the punches that Calzaghe landed weren't clean enough to be scored, but many boxing experts thought that enough of his punches landed cleanly to give him the win. And even the boxing experts who thought Hopkins won said it was extremely close - and no extremely close fight can ever be called a robbery.

You're just showing yourself up as an irrational and wilfully ignorant hater. Calzaghe called out Jones many times. Showtime offered Jones $3.5 million to fight Calzaghe in 2001, but because of boxing politics with HBO, it didn't come off. Jones certainly did not duck Calzaghe, but Calzaghe didn't duck Jones either. It's just one of those things that it didn't happen.

And an equal amount of boxing experts thought they were useless slaps and scored it for Hopkins!

Produce your evidence that you're stating hard provable facts rather than opinions. I have produced hard evidence to back up what I say, but you have just made asinine derogatory comments, and childish icons.

Here's some provable facts. Calzaghe didn't fight Jones till he was shot. Funny how he couldn't get over here fast enough once Jones was shot but it was sooo impossible in 2002. What you call "evidence" I call propaganda!

Hold on, your admitting hopkins landed the cleaner and more effective punches, when you add to that he knocked calzaghe down, how in the hell did calzaghe deserve to win that fight? are you saying the fact calzaghe landed a couple of slaps and about two left lands means he should get the decision. You see Hops face after the fight, he'd hardly been touched.

PS. Ring can say whatever they want, they are not my god, and HBO are garbage at scoring fights, jim lampley doesnt have a clue what lands and what doesnt, they are morons galore.

I was expecting him to reject it to be honest, Calzaghe is retired and wants it to stay that way at the moment.
