I think he can beat all of them except Clottey, but they all have a live chance.
they all have a chance, but clottey is the most competitive so that fight should be made.

Man Cotto vs Clottey bottom line. Berto will get smash by either fighter. And Cintron??too bad he should not even get a chance he doesnt deserve it.

I'd be excited for a Clottey fight, or Berto even, but Cintron was severely unimpressive last time out. He needs some more to add to his resume before he should fight Cotto.

actually Collazo would give Cotto some trouble too.

I did see Berto Collazo..and know that Collazo did the same thing to Hatton...as far as Im concerned Collazo is unbeaten...But that being said Collazo is a southpaw who many good boxers would have trouble with...like the previous poster said of the 3 they all have a chance...I wasnt a big fan od HOya vs Pac...because I thought it was a mismatch in Hoyas favor, but look what happened.
Like I said he can fight ant of them...I would watch anyway. But face it, Cottos standards are no higher than any others, Money is a key too...Cintron could probably make him more money in NYC in JUne.

cintron won't be chosen i can almost assure that...as far as mosely goes for some of you fellas he wouldn't fight cotto in MSG anyway which is why he's been left out of the discussion. a possible end year fight against him in the west coast could be a possiblity though. personally i would love to see it be clottey since i'm pretty sure the general consensus it that most hold him in higher regard over berto. lets unify titles and find a true champ!!

I'm reading posts where people are saying that a Cotto/Berto match would be more exciting than a Clottey/Cotto match? NO WAY! Berto would get rained on like a storm. Collazo was getting all up in Berto's zone tagging him up & Berto almost couldn't even breath towards the end.

Cotto would pick his shots & connect on Berto effectively. One thing I have to give to Cotto is that he can land a flush effective power shot on you at anytime. Berto would lose relatively fast to Cotto but he should fight him eventually because Berto should step up & fight some live wires but I would prefer Mosley the Veteran & Berto the Young Lion.

That fight would tell a lot about how good Berto really is but I feel Mosley would cream Berto. Berto has heart but I'm not too impressed on how he carried himself in the ring with Collazo but will give him points for having heart. Cotto/Clottey is the BEST fight at 147 right now. Clottey is being avoided & for Cotto to take him on and give him a shot then I would definitely give Cotto's props for that.

I'm also reading that Cotto/Cintron, Cotto/Berto would make more sense $ wise........Why would a boxing fan care about how much their going to get?
We want to see the best fights and toughest guys in the ring & Cotto/Clottey
is what's all the way up! People say Clottey is boring but I'm sure Cotto is not going to let the fight get boring and Clottey has a lot on the line and to prove so does Cotto.

I agree...Cotto vs Clottey is also a good fight but I think Berto (Young Lion) is more exciting.

I would rather pay to see 2 non-stop warriors trying to kill each other for 10-12 rounds in a Cotto -- Clottey fight

Than seeing a Warrior beat up a "young Lion", exciting boxer in 5-7 rounds which will be the case in a Cotto -- Berto fight.

                    The 3rd option Cintron who??????
It would go totally against Cotto to pick Cintron.

1st) He has no belt (title).

2nd) In his last 9 fights he 3 losses, 2 Ko's (Margarito 5th and 6th round) and one draw (which in my eyes was a lost by 3 point) against Martinez. The 6 victories were against low ranked boxers.

3rd) He is not under Top Rank and even though Berto is not under top rank either, at least Berto can sell more than Cintron.

4th) Cotto didn't want to fight Quintana because he was puertorican and had said that he would fight a puertorican only if it was his only option. Cintron is not his only option. If he chooses Cintron it would go against his own words.

5th) The excuse of being the eve of a puertorican day parade doesn't make sense because Cotto will pack the garden even if he fight the hot dog guy in the corner that day. What he will need is an oponent that will help him sell outside the Madison Square Garden, in other words PPV and with Cintron's last demonstration i really doubt he will bring anything to the table in those regards.

6th) Cintron will ask for more money than Clottey to take the fight. Clottey is more affordable.

7th) Being that this is the first time that in public Cotto will be known to pick out an oponent (Cotto always said that the company Top Ranks tells him who he will fight) he should pick one of the toughfest oponents to raise his value while gaining additional fans.

Bottom line Cotto needs to fight Clottey and then at the end of the year Arum will shoot for Pacquiao -- Cotto or Margarito -- Cotto 2 (if Margarito is reinstated), because Arum want's to get the most money from Cotto before he leaves Top Ranks Promotions in 2010, and by the end of the year those 2 fights will generate more money for Arum than any other fight Cotto could have, including Mosley -- Cotto 2(which i would like to see also).

You can't consider Collazo undefeated because Mosley beat him convincingly.
