The thing with Margarito though is that I seriously doubt that the California (or any other US entity) will give him a license even after the one-year suspension. There's no guarantee...he'd only be allowed to re-apply at that time.
I don't think he'll ever make the major paydays he was on his way to making here, but there's definitely some good money options even by fighting in Mexico.

Anyway, the whole point of my argument is that too many people in this forum seem to think it's pointless for Margarito to fight in Mexico 'cause there ain't any money in it. Whether they believe it or not, there IS money to be made in sports in Mexico. Many soccer players down there make millions (of dollars) per year, and there've been plenty of big fights put on that've paid out good purses to the fighters.
It may not be the same as here, but there's definitely some options for Margarito if that's the path he chooses to take. Like I said, there's no guarantee he'll be licensed after the one-year suspension is over.
