*** it! we already know what will be the outcome of the Pac-Hatton fight. why are we even wasting our time discussing it? I hope Pac drop Hatton and instead fight Berto for his WBC welterweight belt. That would be more competitive....

This couldn't be further from the truth. His advisors and greedy lawyer are the ones who are being greedy. I don't know how you could possibly make that baseless assumption based on these 'articles' you read here.
Plus see here and here for explanations of Pac's motives.
I would have a lot of sympathy for those motives if it weren't for the fact that Pac has been very disrespectful to Hatton in the negotiations; first, by allowing Arum to negotiate a deal with Hatton on his behalf, with his full authority, and then waiting until nearly a month after the agreement was made before pulling the plug on it; and second by saying crazy and insulting (to Hatton) things to the press like: "If I accepted 50/50 I'd be a laughing stock", and: "We won't let these foreigners get one over us". I don't think he means to be disrespectful at all, although I think he is being. I think he has a chip on his shoulder, because of the way he came out of extreme poverty to achieve what he's achieved. But I think he could have negotiated for whatever deal he was willing to accept last December, and the way he has treated Hatton is just unethical, IMO.
Also regarding the second link above, I don't think the eventual result of the fight has anything to do with this - those people who say Hatton deserves a big share are not doing so on the basis that they think Hatton will win.Last edited by Dave Rado; 01-19-2009, 07:07 PM.

It is just very sad to see that many people here can see Hatton's brit fans impact on the financial aspect of the negotiation but not Pacquiao's non-Filipino followers. You don't even have to include Filipino's travelling from PI to LV as the numbers they contribute are almost negligible. They should be comparing the $$ numbers that Manny's worldwide followings bring to the table the way they bring up RH's UK support, just to be fair.
mickeyb's slum dweller comment was unfortunate. But it goes to show how many like him, view Manny like that. These people cant seem to come to terms with themselves that an oriental man is the King of boxing today and is about to receive more money than their well-pampered and protected hero. I pity them, as I have so many workmates like them. They believe so much in themselves that anything good about other people outside their community are just hypes.

Originally posted by JourneymanUK View PostI know Ricky isnt. Unfortunately, racism will always be there whenever the two fighters involved in any boxing match are of different races. Fans cant just cant help themselves. These differences will be highlighted moreso if one is from a poor country and the other from a First world country.
If anything you're being racist by assuming my comment was racist.

There been some pretty horrific language aimed at Ricky by members of the pac-man section of fans on this forum, racist language goes both ways.

One need not be a racist to recognise a racist comment like the one you just said. Besides, i thought you already apologised for it. Anyway, no worries, I got loads of workmates saying racial comments everyday towards other people and they wouldnt admit to us that they are racists. So you are not alone. I live in the UK and I am pretty sure I know a thing or to about racism, so save your breath from trying to explain yourself.
