Of course its a good for boxing. The number 1 fighter coming back is always a good thing. Plus, he brings attention to the sport and gets people interested in the sport. Sports will always have its hardcore fans but for a sport to go over the top it needs to catch the attention of the casual fan also. It's the only way to gain new fans and keep the sport thriving.

I'm a Floyd fan, but I don't think any amount of money will get him in the ring with Margarito. He's too big and relentless.

In fact, I feel that a fight that doesn't live up to its hype and buildup, its essentially bad for the sport in the long run. I know most of the people I talked to felt totally ripped off and dissapointed with the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight, even though the hype for it was ridiculously huge.
A lot of it had to do with the fact that Floyd babbled on about how there was supposed to be some sort of fireworks on the way, and then on fight night, there wasn't so much as a single firecracker throughout the fight.
Floyd done what he had to do to win, i can see where your coming from but it wouldn't exactly have been smart for Floyd to hype the fight by saying
I'm not going to be ****** and trade with Oscar, I'm gonna play to my strengths and fight defensively and win a comfortable decision in a lacklustre fights
Floyd hyped the fight, then won and however different his words were to his actions, his $25 million payday and victory justify it was the right thing to do. You fans know what your going to get from Floyd and if "Your into more of a Toe to Toe Fight " then don't buy a Floyd PPV and don't be dissapointed if he boxes his opponents ears off rather than going against his natural talents and skillset and making the boxing match a brawl

article or not, i think floyd coming back isnt good for boxing because since he's left better match ups have been made and we as fans have seen better fights now that everyone isnt trying to land a fight with just one guy.
if matches could still be made as they have been this last year with floyd in the mix then i say, ok, it's a good thing, but once guys start holding out to fight one guy, then afraid to fight others because it could ruin a chance at a payday or a title shot ( more so then right now) then i say it's a bad thing like it was prior to his retirement.......
boxing match ups and boxing in general has been better with floyd out the picture.
i'm not a floyd fan, but i respect him as a fighter and his skill set, but if boxing being better with him out of it, i'm all about boxing, i enjoy boxing more than mayweather.........
also, i've never got my money's worth at a mayweather fight....... never once.

Such a return could be great for boxing IF the promoters fill up the undercard with good fights. Prospects fighting tomato cans does nothing to promote boxing in general. Use the captive large audience to your advantage and they will come back to see those fighters as headliners. The Pac vs DLH undercard was horrendous!

Money mayweather needs to step in the ring with ****ritto so he can be snaped into reality and finally get his long awaiting L on his record....come on guys he only comes back to fight hatton because manny is a major threat to him, he thinks having no L's on your record makes you a great fighter
