I didnt read the article, but obviously a great fighter like Floyd is good for boxing. But since he has never had a really tough fight, he should at least fight the best WW's, Cotto and Margrito. He comfortably outpointed Oscar at 154.

How would he deal with the constant pressure of such a big guy in Margrito? Floyds style might not be exciting, but the anticipation of these matchups is. With Floyd its a case of "Who can really test him?"

I'm with you, i would like to see Floyd take on a top Welter but you've got to understand that when he was Ring champion he had a responsibility to fight the top welters but now he will take the money fights from 135-147 as he no longer holds any weight at Welter , fights with Junior welters may be closer weight wise anyway. As i've heard many say on this forum before "Floyd is no longer relevant at Welterweight"

F*U*K Floyd!!! the best pound 4 pound fighters fight the best in the game, unlike him that picks his fights againts people that he can beat, this clown is a joke to boxing!!! the WW division has more than enough talent to consider this clown!!! he's just like a Goldigger!!! Puro Margarito Puto!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Manny win a title at 112 lbs? Wasn't he fighting at 130 earlier this year? Does Manny have any fights at 154? Has he had several years to grow into a WW body? Does Manny claim to be the greatest boxer that ever lived? (yet is afraid of the top challenges at 16 pounds over the weight he started boxing over 12 years ago)

Was JLC in his prime when Floyd beat him?

In my opinion, the anticipation and hype of the fight are a great thing, but when the fight doesn't deliver what the people are expecting, which is usually fireworks, and a real fight...it hurts the sport.

The Oscar-Floyd fight was the richest fight in the history of the sport, but I would argue that boxing lost a lot of potential fans because of it. It surely didn't gain many new ones, IMHO.

Horrible article. I laughed at the Hatton Mayweather fight now being fun.

mayweather hatton was not an exciting fight? i sure did enjoy it! no matter what this guy does he will never get the credit from people such as Vester. so I say *** em all and chase the money fights pbf. the only thing they can't ***** about you ducking is MONEY! Be the next golden goose! it wasnt a problem when he was handpicking, so do whats best for you and yours. i don't see any of the other top guys fighting other top guys.

Mayweather returns and fights the current top fighter, who would be someone he already beat (Hatton) or someone who is smaller than him (Pacquiao), hypes the fight out of the ring, but puts on a boring performance inside it (something like his fights with Baldomir and dela Hoya), in the process alienating more fans then leaves the sport immediately after...I don't see how that will help the sport. Let his boringness stay retired and wallow on his self-proclaimed greatness.
