Compubox came out with that ranking of the most accurate fighters in the sport... Mayweather Jr. was #1 and Juan Diaz was #2, etc. etc.
However, I think Marquez is the most accurate in another sense. While he misses more often than Mayweather and Diaz, he is accurate in the sense that he always hits the most vulnerable point showing on your body when he connects. Some of the combinations he lands on Pacquaio were just so well placed, each punch hitting the place that was the most wide open. The chin with a hook, the side of the body with an uppercut and a right to the temple...
Every time he throws, it is in an effort to hurt the opponent as much as possible, not with the sheer force of the punch, but with that placement.
He is simply a surgeon with his punches.
