Unless he fights Chris John again and beats him, the defeat will be his

fact is fact, morales and mab are greater than jmm. that's not to say jmm isn't great, but he's not greater than morales and mab.

Marquez had the chance to fight Morales and overpriced himself.. He duck a Pac rematch for a 30k in Indenosia. He lost to Chris John and didn't even bother for a rematch.. Pac meanwhile rematch Morales, Barrera and all best fighters out there.. He has balls and Marquez don't have it.. He's just a shadow living off to Pac's name..

Chris John beat his @ss fair and square.

Wow you're really ******.. Theres a thread here if Marquez is an ATG.. It was a one sided Hell no!.. You're ****** even the Mexican and Xcaret thinks he had bad management to deserve him ATG status as MAB and Morales had. His resume is an ASS compared to Morales and Barrera. You're clearly ******.. Get out of here then.

Get the *** outa here and go back where ya belong...in the kitchen.
Angry talk. Why am I a tard now?

I have seen almost every one of Juan's high profile fights (Pacquiao, Norwood, Barrera, Gainer, Medina, Casamayor) as well as his bouts with Jaca, Terdsak, Jonnie Walker, and Rocky Juarez. I haven't seen his fight with Robbie Peden or Victor Polo...those are fights I need to see.

I haven't kept any Marquez fights around to review them (save Pacquiao I) because I'm really just not a big fan. I have about 60 fights on my hard drive which are all FOTY type fights or feature my favorite fighters. I have a couple of Rafael's fights though.

Again, Marquez would not be ranked in the top 10 or even possibly top 20 (historically) in any weight class at which he participated. He was a Featherweight for pretty much all of his career and he never got **** done. He dropped controversial decisions to John and Norwood and his best wins were over Manuel Medina and Smoke Gainer. His career may have been handled poorly, but in the end he just doesn't stack up to his contemporaries.

And there's no way he could be considered among the 10 greatest Mexican fighters to ever do it.

              Chavez
              Sanchez
              Finito Lopez
              Morales
              Barrera
              Canto
              Olivares
              Chiquita Gonzalez
              Zarate
              Saldivar

Marquez is a very skilled fighter. Obviously he has a considerable amount of ability as he has given several good fighters a tough time, if not handing them a defeat. I just find it strange that, in the last year or so, people have been proclaiming him as some special talent (as in one of the most talented ever); also claiming that he's as good or better than the likes of Barrera and Morales. I think that's bull****, but I'm done raining on the Marquez praise thread.
