A weak attempt at humor. Defensive wizard along the lines of a Mayweather, Whitaker or Hopkins, hell no. But he does appear to have made some progress since the back to back KOs.

Fight Dawson..a young prime champ.

Like Hopkins fought a young prime champ in Pavlik...at 43.

It's wouldn't really be the same though would it?

I mean Hopkins put on a good performance against a prime middleweight champ but the fight took place at Light heavyweight.

If Calzaghe fought and beat Dawson a prime champ in the same weight division as himself then he should recieve more credit IMO.

First off this fool is not one of the all time greats in boxing. He is a good fighter and perhaps one of Britain's best lets leave it at that and get off his nuts for a minute. Many people including myself and in Europe believe he lost that fight with Hopkins. Hopkins knocked him out, landed the harder, cleaner, and more effective punches. Displayed great defense and ring generalship. All Joe did was slap puch like some angry broad. he never landed flush on Hopkins. I mean who has? He has been a protected fighter most of his career. To give him more credit after Hopkins destroyed Pavlik is criminal! He ducked Pavlik for years and even recently took the fight with a washed up Roy over Pavlik in his prime. Look he wants the money that roy brings to the table but money doesn't buy credibility. Just a few months ago he was trashing Roy saying he was washed up and only a shadow of the boxer he use to be. Now Joe is holding Roy's nuts like he is still one of the greatest. Let's be real man and stop hyping this good boxer into one of the all time greats.

Trinidad, Delahoya, Wright, Pavlik... All moved up 2 weight classes to fight him...

Fought Tarver after Tarver came down from 220lbs from filming Rocky...

I have to laugh at everyone eating out of Chad Dawson's arse. A win against a 38 year old Glen Johnson (and like how Joe haters say he lost against Hopkins, I think Johnson was the better fighter against Dawson) and a good win against Antonio Tarver, other than that who has Dawson beat? Adamek was 31-0....but then people will tell you that Kessler's unbeaten record meant **** because he hadn't "beaten anybody" so shouldn't the same go for Adamek?. This isn't an attack on Dawson, he's a bright young boxer, it's an attack on the hypocrisy of Calzaghe haters...by the time Calzaghe was 26 he had a similar resume, wins against Eubank and Robin Reid.

There was massive money in a Pavlik fight, there isn't in a Dawson fight. Do you think Joe will want to take a pay cut at this stage in his career?
