Margarito is just a nightmare matchup for Cotto...His size, iron chin, pressure and high workrate are just too much for Cotto to overcome.

I agree. Cotto's not durable enough to beat a guy like Marg. He was pretty hurt in the 7th round too. Right when Margarito gets going.

Cotto wouldn't take this fight at all if he wasn't confident and didn't recognize his mistakes..he knows what he did wrong and will correct it..he was ****ing Margarito up BAD with all the wrong plans tho right?..now imagine with his new revised plan?..

Cotto was also..obviously distracted due to a broken nose and still went 9 rds ****in Margs with a severely broken nose!!..yet he gets no credit?..

I'm not counting Margarito out..but it's obvious he's comin with the same gameplan..he's not the type of fighter to adapt..he's 1-dimensional come foward and punch a thousand plus a fight..

And to those sayin Cotto can't take a punch..Did you see the fight?..and saw the shots he took?..and didn't get dropped!..

Look... Cotto damn well better have a different plan! But the fact is he gets tired in the later rounds. Don't u think he's already tried to fix his conditioning problem several times already?. He just naturally can't do it while still maintaining a decent offense and having to constantly use his entire body to slip, dodge, and roll margarito's 1000+ punches. He has never been too difficult to hit, just ask corley, Judah, mosley, torres, and paulie(paulie just has no power). If margarito fights someone he can hit he is very very likely to win. What ur saying is that now he's gonna miracally be a much better fighter. It's possible. I'm not completely counting cotto out. He still has a chance. I just want people to admit the truth, and that is that while cotto still has a chance, his chances have become a hell of a lot slimmer.

U couldn't be more wrong!!.. Kermit cintron is 5'11" with a 74" reach and margarito is 5'11" with a 73" reach. Those two r "big" welterwieghts. Paul Williams is officially 6'1" but is actually 6'2" with an 83" inch reach!!!!!!!!.. That's more than muhammad Ali!!!.. Now that's a "freak" at welterweight!!

If cotto changes a few things and is in good enough condition he can beat margs. For the first 6 rounds in their last fight cotto was arguably the best p4p fighter in the world, he just ran out of gas and got beat by a more determined and much stronger fighter. A rematch would be another classic.

Agree. Williams is a bigger punk for not fighting at Middle. Marg should be at the least Jr Middle but then again, Santos beats his ass all day there so it's back down to fight 5'6 dudes.

Nose and too much movement had its affect. Cotto needs to stay in the middle... circle, jab clinch and **** that body up this time with NO BS excuses.

You can't compare Chavez & Taylor. Those guys were incredibly skilled fighters. Margarito is a one dimensional fighter, which works for him, but with minor adjustments Cotto can pull out a win.

The way you beat Margarito is circling around him and boxing him. Cotto made the mistake of leaning against the ropes to counter Margs punches that were landing throughout the fight.

Though Margarito's got the tougher chin, I don't know if he can take the same amount of punches again from Cotto who's going to be the hungrier fighter this time around. It won't be a repeat of last July IMO.
