Calzaghe has hit a low point for using the ****in joke triangle theory... and it doesnt even make sense cause Pavlik is better!!!! (nothing against Kessler)

Taylor and Taylor? The rest of Pavliks resume is terrible.

            Are you for real?

Why would you even mention Hopkins? It was a piss poor performance against a 43 year old man who knocked him down in the first round.I won't even give Pavlik credit for that win unless dominates him and knocks him out.

You think beating Roy Jones now would make him the P4P best in the sport?

Take a page from Calzaghe's book, where he states that fighting Jones would do nothing for his legacy.

I'm sorry, but this 'piss-poor performance-against-a-43-year-old man-who knocked-him-down-in-the-first-round' that you are all repeating like a mantra and seem to believe is the gods own truth about the fight is little more than yank propaganda. It is as though you think if you keep repeating it enough it will magically come true.

What really did happen in the fight? Was it Calzaghe's best performance, no, lets get that out of the way right away. Did he get knocked down, yes, but lets not pretend that Joe staying on his feet didn't look a distinct possibility until Hopkins bundled him over. What about the rest of it?

The reality of that fight is that Hopkins usual tactics, the tactics that had beaten Tarver and Winky, the tactics that say, be cagey, back off and when your opponent throws bundle into him throwing first an overhand right and then short punches, did not work. Why didn't they work? 1) because Hopkins mauling style did not intimidate Calzaghe in the slightest, unlike Tarver, and he responded with shots of his own every time, 2) Joe's pressure was so relentless and he threw so many shots that Hopkins was forced to concentrate on shutting Joe down rather than doing anything himself, 3) that Calzaghe was actually smarter than Hopkins and from R6 or so had worked out that all Hopkins had was this actually rather one dimensional gameplan and shortened his own punches in exactly the way Hopkins usually does to beat Hopkins at his own game and 4) that the pace Calzaghe set was far too great for Hopkins who was exhausted by the later rounds. These are all things done by Joe Calzaghe to win the fight. It was an ugly afair, much different than Calzaghe's normal style, but he still won, outright, fair and sqaure, over the acknowledged linear LHW champ.

As for Hopkins age, yes, he was 43, but when was the last time Hopkins was young? He beat tarver and Winky in his 40s to become the #1 LHW. Did he look shot or incapable in that fight? No, he looked strong, quick and capable, just as much so as in any of the recent fights he won. Did he tire at the end, yes, about R10, not 4, 5 or 6. Jermain Taylor and Zab Judah tire in fights faster than Hopkins did. Can you even say him tiring was solely due to his age, no, Calzaghe forced a much higher pace and pressurised Hopkins much more than any other opponent he had ever faced.

Calzaghe's close win was both deserved and impressive and making excuses to try and discredit it is weak.

It was a joke post aimed at someone who thought Calzaghe would raise up as the number one P4P fighter after his win over Roy Jones.I understand that Hopkins is a spolier but he was pointing at the Hopkins win as if it wasn't a hard fought battle for Calzaghe. The poster I was responding to was condescending to "Yanks" so I thought responding in the same manner would be fitting. Why would you waste your time responding to a ****** post like that?It was a joke for the most part except for the Roy Jones bit.Hopkins ages well like fine whine.I expect Pavlik to have a similar performance except he will lose unlike Joe.

Bernard will catch him coming in and he will fall. But at 160, he is very hard to beat. if he wants an action fight, let him move up to 168 to meet Kessler. Kessler KO would be my prediction. And who cares about pound 4 pound anyways. Kelly was one punch away from losing to Taylor by KO. he came back all to his credit but relax with him. i do understand, Americans have no more good fighters and it pisses them off. Look at pound 4 pound king Pacquio, the same guy who was ***** slapped by Morales, who sqeezed out a draw from Marquez and who beat 2 great fighters in Morales and Barrera who had nothing left in the tank. Humberto Sotto will be a different story and Juan Guzman would destroy him!
It took Hop 10+ rounds to end a natural welterweight in Tito, what makes you think he can hurt the Ghost? The only fool who ended up on the floor in the first rounds against Bhop was Calzage. Even poor Tito got hit a billion times before being KD.

I'm a fan of Mayweather and THIS is exactly what he did/is doing. In which I and MANY others called him a ***** for. He retires to DUCK Cotto and Marg JUST to name a few. Don't get me wrong, May is a great fighter BUT IMO what he's doing is "*****"!

Calzaghe is doing the same and its funny how his fans will back him EVERY time Joe changes his mind.

It doesn't matter what I say anyway. People WILL say JOE CALZAGHE and MAYWEATHER BOTH DUCKED opponents like little bitches.... fact!!!!!!!!! Who knows, MAX might even call JOEY C. OUT if PAV beats HOP. I hope he really does now.
