Ill be very dissapointed in Calzaghe if he never ends up fighting Pavlik. if Pavlik beats Hopkins, it almost makes the fight mandatory. and he better hurry up too, cause hes getting on the old side. he had a late prime, but the time is coming where hes gonna start sliding a little.

I know Calzaghe wants the money with the Jones fight, but cmon. Jones is way, way past prime and not even close to as dangerous an opponent as Pavlik right now.

and even if Kessler is 'better' than Pavlik, fighters with high punch outputs, power and determination can win fights that more talented fighters cannot. I thought people would realise that by now after what happened with Cotto and Margarito.

I think you'll be very hard pressed to find the Calzaghe fan who doesn't want him to fight Pavlik. I'm sure we all do. The main difference is that for a Calzaghe fan, there's nothing left for him to prove, so if he retires, he retires. I know you lot don't feel that way though.

I'm actually more dissapointed in the fact that he didn't fight Ottke. Honest.

            You're a ****, but you've made me laugh a few times.

Malignaggi will beat Hatton, Calzaghe will beat Jones, Mora will probably beat Forrest and I expect Calderon to get the W later this month.

Feather fisted weakling club is taking over boxing, get used to it.

how does Calzaghe not have anything to prove? hes not incredibly far from his prime and can still get some pretty big wins. obviously that would add to his legacy, and a fight with Pavlik would probebly produce one of the most memorable fights of his career.

Ottke is kind of like a thorn in the Calzaghe side. I mean, who does he think he is holding onto a SMW belt in the Joe Calzaghe era? Its not the done thing.

Would you root for Ottke? In truth I have never seen him fight and I am a little su****ious of the 'absolute fraud and bum' label that gets attached to him, after all, Calzaghe gets the same thing. Surely he couldn't be that bad could he?

Also how about Beyer? There's another one who gets slated, but how good was he?

Please I will give anything for Hatton to have at least one last good fight in him. Pauli drives me up the wall. When they were giving him that haircut in his last fight I was hoping they would scalp him by accident.

Don't ask me why, because I don't know why, but Malignaggi is one fighter who I cannot take to at all.

Maybe because he's one of the longest reigning champions in history with one of the highest number of defences, unified his division and then went to a new weight and beat the #1 fighter there? What do you want? Beating Pavlik would be nice, but don't be fooled, Pavlik is just the next name to come along, he's a MW champ with one defence and one meaningful win. Beating him doesn't prove anything Joe hasn't proved before.

As for his prime. His physical prime passed long ago, before the Lacy fight in fact and he's been slipping since then IMO. At 37 (or almost) it is getting decidedly dicey for him on the age front.
