I don't even know why the possibility of the fight was made public. At no point in time was Trinidad every genuinely considering coming back. They just took it as a moment to seem relevant again. That's all really.

Are we seriously debating this? The way Tito has been boxing lately, if you can even call that boxing, and the way Oscar has been fighting lately are in two different spectrums. Oscar comes to fight. Tito as of late has not. If they met in a rematch, Oscar would win a completely lopsided UD or put Tito to sleep in the later rounds. It wouldn't even be competetive.
Knowing this and how bad Oscar beat Tito the last time they fought, no one really wants to see them fight now. I did. A rematch right after the original fight would have been logical, but now... nah. And yes, Oscar beat Trinidad. Not in the sense of a statistical loss or win, but the overwhelming general consensus is that if Oscar wouldn't have listened to his corner and ran, he would have won. He was putting on a boxing clinic, just like he would do in a rematch.
The money fight is ODH vs Cotto. That's the fight we want to see and hopefully if Cotto gets past Margarito ( which I personally think he will ), it will happen. And then if the boxing God's smile upon us, we'll get Mayweather vs Cotto.

Getting a fight with DLH will promise you the most money you have ever made in your career, so why should DLH split 50/50?
It's kind of like you and I owning a company and I come up with the product, the marketing and the strategy to sell it and you want me to split the profits 50/50?? No ****ing way.
As for the 50/50...the name of the game is MONEY, and better 50% of a huge pie than 60 or 75% of nothing................. Oscar had many opportunities to rematch Yrinidad, and Trinidad offered him a rematch right after their fight, but oscar refused it. He only became REALLY keen when it was crystal clear that Trinidad had definitely retired, making big PR with his special trip to Puerto Rico to have lunch with Trinidad and coax him into a fight. How come nobody remembers these FACTS.

Good for him (although we all seem to forget it) but bad for his training.

As for Trinidad not coming to fight, I can't imagine anyone not serious, getting into the ring for with, of all people Roy Jones, the top lb4lb star since Sugar Ray Robinson, and for you to say so, shows how little you know about boxing. How would Oscar have done against Jones, I wonder?? Of course that's a silly question, and I shouldn't have asked it, but it was rhetorical.
