None of them are significantly worse than the others, but all of those groups have some biased fans.
I would say however that Puerto Ricans seem to be the least biased. I base this only upon the posts on this website, it may be different in real life but I wouldn't know as I've never met a Puerto Rican. I can't think of a Puerto Rican equivalent of Viva Mexico, Xcaret or Mayan Sun.
I voted for America. The reason why is because I think that boxing fans often give the benefit of the doubt to a fighter that they've been impressed by over one that they aren't familiar with. In my opinion British boxing fans are less likely to do this simply because we see a wider variety of boxing than you. You guys have all the American-based big fights. So do we. But we have all the European-based big fights.
There are some that we miss out on, but if we do, it seems that more of us take the time to download them, whereas American posters seem more likely think "Who is he? Who has he fought? Why should I care?". If that's your view then so be it, but don't form an opinion about a boxer based upon the fact that he hasn't fought on HBO.
What this results in is American fighters being rated too highly, whereas lesser-known foreign fighters are dismissed without any real consideration. Sorry guys but Chris John is a very good fighter, and if you're one of those that thinks he's a bum who only ever wins because of hometown decisions you should try and actually watch him fight.
An example of when this happened recently was Abraham-Miranda. Many Americans had seen Miranda score impressive-looking KOs and so expected him to win, even though some of them hadn't even seen the original fight between them, let alone any other Abraham fights.
I use that example because Miranda isn't American and therefore it proves my point: it's more to do with rushing to an opinion before you have the facts rather than being biased. But I think that the rushing tends to be a little bit faster if the boxer in question is American.Last edited by Clegg; 06-30-2008, 07:25 AM.

If two big name Americans are fighting then yes, America is the best location if you're looking to make money. But if it's Calzaghe fighting a European fighter or an American without much of a reputation, the best place to have the fight IS Wales.
Fights of that nature make more money in the UK. The same is true of the fights of most British champions. Alex Arthur vs a European will make more money in Scotland than anywhere else. Even if Arthur fought Valero I doubt America would be the best place to have it because the interest simply isn't there. The same is true for at least 90% of the fights that take place outside of the US.

British fans by a mile they are insecure, British fighters success means more to them than enjoying the sweet science regardless of nationality
i think Americans are ignorant not biased
British fans shoud stop with all the Biasedness TBH im as patriotic as they come but it looks a bit sad and desperate/insecure when fans keep leaping to the defence of their favourite British fighter
