Anyway, it is true that a large majority of even normally reasonable American posters genuinely appear to think he is some sort of half-assed no hoper, discredit his every win the moment it happens and generally despise the man, simply because he is not American. Meanwhile, Pavlik who is good but by no means great is lauded to the high heavens. If this isn't biased, I don't know what is.

BTW, I will always defend my Calzaghe nuthugging brothers in the face of the horrific, jaw dropping and deeply upsetting persecution we face here.

I like that you start the post with sarcasm about being a victim then end it with THAT post script, like you guys are the ***s in **** era Germany or some ****.

BTW, your whole point is incorrect because the reasoning behind it is more ignorance than Bias. You claim Americans are not exposed to Euro fighters. True or not, that is ignorance, not bias. Bias would be proclaiming that Mayweather was ducking Ricky hatton and would get TKOed by him, then after the fight claiming that he cheated to win and Hatton was winning the fight (something I've seen a bunch of on here).

Really, most people on this board are practicing :

    Inaccurate Observation.
    Overgeneralization
    Selective Observation
    Illogical Reasoning

Abadger, you're not a bad poster and you're a pretty smart guy...but you can be biased as hell. This pretty much stems from the fact that you are upset and annoyed at all the hate Joe C. gets on here. You then project that to think that all Americans think like this. Don't associate with trolls just because they agree with your viewpoints some of the time or are nationalistically on your side. You don't see me agreeing with Flawless' idiotic post about "American fighters being the most exciting because of PPV stream revenue"

You can call it ignorance if you want, but its all one and the same to me. If you can't be bothered to pay enough attention to fighters from outside the US to form a coherent opinion then you are exhibiting biased preferences that lead to an ignorant opinions. Another word for this is called being dumb.

I realise that not all American posters are like this, but frankly it is a very large majority, including some of even the best posters on the site. It seems to me to be very deeply ingrained in the average US boxing fan that 'US is best' and the rest of the world sucks. The US may very well be the best, but the rest of the world doesn't suck and its no excuse for pretending that it does. If you do, you aren't really a fan of boxing at all, but a team USA cheerleader.

Ignorance = not knowing about something.
Bias = always rooting for your own kind.

USA fans tend to not KNOW about euro fighters. They do tend to know about Mexicans, Pinoys, Canadian etc. That does not make them biased towards US fighters. Especially not on these boards.

So again you ignored the part where I posted about selective observation? Class. Do me a favor and look that up and get back to me.

I'm pretty sure most Americans are guilty of this too but at least the smarter ones would own up to it when it was pointed out to them.

"I realize that not all Calzaghe fans are ignorant ****wit trolls that don't know anything about good boxing, a proper punch, a good resume, American boxers, Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, or fighting the best opposition in the world, but it seems to me a majority of them on these boards are..."

        See what I did there?

As long as you associate with morons like __Ricky__, Lucky 13 (LOL) and Sir Joe, you have no space to talk about "dumb", "ignorant" or "biased" when it comes to boxing.

Biased fans without many talented fighters - British
Biased fans with many talented fighters - Mexican
          Biased judging - German
Biased press - American (by a mile)

I cannot vote for Puertoricans as the most biased since I'm a Puertorican who has a dislike for Tito Trinidad and his father as persons, a dislike that is shared by the vast majority of my real life friends. The difference is that most of them root for him anyways and I only root for him when I dislike his opponent more than I dislike him.

Amongst others Enzo Mac is worth mentioning, previous CW world champion, will get another shot, and is #7 in the division.

Bradley Price is aight and will progress. Some others too. Not bad for a country with the population of Connecticut.
