Which Fans Are Most Biased?

Unless some sort of study is being done with this information I really can't see a reason to participate in such a ****** discussion. Isn't this a boxing forum? Lets discuss boxing and the guys who actually get in the ring. Not the obnoxious fans who more than half the time only know about the one fighter they follow.

None of them are significantly worse than the others, but all of those groups have some biased fans.

I would say however that Puerto Ricans seem to be the least biased. I base this only upon the posts on this website, it may be different in real life but I wouldn't know as I've never met a Puerto Rican. I can't think of a Puerto Rican equivalent of Viva Mexico, Xcaret or Mayan Sun.

I voted for America. The reason why is because I think that boxing fans often give the benefit of the doubt to a fighter that they've been impressed by over one that they aren't familiar with. In my opinion British boxing fans are less likely to do this simply because we see a wider variety of boxing than you. You guys have all the American-based big fights. So do we. But we have all the European-based big fights.

There are some that we miss out on, but if we do, it seems that more of us take the time to download them, whereas American posters seem more likely think "Who is he? Who has he fought? Why should I care?". If that's your view then so be it, but don't form an opinion about a boxer based upon the fact that he hasn't fought on HBO.

What this results in is American fighters being rated too highly, whereas lesser-known foreign fighters are dismissed without any real consideration. Sorry guys but Chris John is a very good fighter, and if you're one of those that thinks he's a bum who only ever wins because of hometown decisions you should try and actually watch him fight.

An example of when this happened recently was Abraham-Miranda. Many Americans had seen Miranda score impressive-looking KOs and so expected him to win, even though some of them hadn't even seen the original fight between them, let alone any other Abraham fights.

I use that example because Miranda isn't American and therefore it proves my point: it's more to do with rushing to an opinion before you have the facts rather than being biased. But I think that the rushing tends to be a little bit faster if the boxer in question is American.

Americans by FAR. Think about it right. Calzaghe is udefeated, 11 years and 21 defences, a 2 weight Ring champ. And Americans scream "YOU ARE A BIASED BRIT, CALZAGHE IS ****!!!" at any British fan who dares to say, "hey, you know guys, he is actually quite good."

The level of bias is ridiculous, and it isn't even a contest.

No one with any brains thinks Calzaghe is "****" anymore. He is at LEAST a good to VERY good fighter even if you hate his ass you have to acknowledge that he's at least GOOD. Anyone who says that is either:

American's should never be allowed to vote on these polls. They can't even elect a half decent president properly. Voting for ex-film stars and celebrities for a presidency is beyond comprehension. The Terminator for Governor of Florida....what the **** is that all about?

To become president heavily relies on how popular you are, nobody questions your political talents, political qualifications, political experience or background.

When insulting people's world knowledge, and calling them ignorant of other countries, it helps to not make that very same mistake in your own post.
