Of course you were wrong that Calzaghe would KO Hopkins, very few said he would because of the styles of the two. Hopkins is very defensive. Joe had a much better chance of KOing Lacy or Kessler because they were trading, Hopkins doesn't do that.

Pavlik is most similar to Kessler in terms of past fights. Similar power, reach and style in some aspects. You gotta start comparing fighters factoring in styles to the outcomes dude, seriously. Just because Calzaghe didn't dominate Hops, as most predicted he nor anyone would be able to, doesn't mean he can't with Pavlik, in the same way he did Kessler, a much more similar fighter, but even then not the same.

What are you talking about?? Kessler similar to Pavlik? pshh cmon man

Kessler and Pavlik are totally different. you keep bringing up kessler as if he was some great fighter nobody could beat.

Kessler was more or less a brawler if you ask me.

Pavlik has way more skill than that overrated POS. You gusy keep underrating him seriously.

I didn't feel he was dominated by Taylor, personally. Also, Taylor is somewhat smaller than Calzaghe (and Pavlik), and Hopkins seemed to be more willing to throw earlier in the fight, giving Taylor more of a chance to land. It's been a LONG time since I watched those two fights, but it seemed to me that it wasn't quite as slow paced as the Calzaghe fight was, but wasn't far from it. I wish I could remember a little better.

If by dominated you mean the fights were close, then I agree.

Ha ha ha ha! I'm sorry, I don't intend to be rude but this is so inaccurate it is untrue. Kessler and Pavlik are quite similar in that they both have an upright, mechanical and methodical attack based on left jab, right hand. The difference is that Kessler is FAR more dynamic and gifted boxer than Pavlik is, he can throw more punches, is quicker and sharper in almost all respects.

How you arrived at the opinion you just posted I will never know, if I didn't know better I'd say you'd never seen EITHER of them fight, but I'm sure you have, which is even more worrying.

Way more skill than Kessler? No. Kessler is very, very skilled. He's also very standard, and doesn't improvise well during a fight. He's easily in the top 5 right now, and might be top 3 (behind Pavlik/Calzaghe). I want to see him in a few more fights in the US, but he's got everything he needs. He might even be a much worse opponent for Pavlik than Calzaghe. He's got fast hands (very), a big-ass right, and can go 12 at a Calzaghe pace and stay active. If he were to catch Pavlik early in a round, he might very well finish the kid off, or get a TKO with the right ref. If it went past 9, though, the decision would be a tossup. Both guys have wonderful work rates, stamina, and are heavy handed. I don't think there'd be a danger of Kessler being KO'd unless he pulled a boner and punched himself out in deep water. This is one fight I couldn't really pick, and would ****ing love to see.

So your saying Kessler is a better fighter thank Pavlik because he is more gifted and dynamic??

Im gonna make a thread that asks this question
