It makes me laugh when Calzaghe fans think Roy will be easy work.
Roy Jones is shot Chunk. The lightning fast impossible to hit Jones of old has been replaced with an easy to hit shadow of his former self. He is absurdly cautious and no longer has the stamina to throw more than a single punch at a time. He still has his handspeed, but that, literally, is it. In addition, his chin is unquestionably made of the finest crystal. Did you see the Johbnson KO, a light punch to the side of the head!
Roy Jones has been boxing with the expectation of defeat since Antonio Tarver III, when he was happy just to get through the twelve. Even against Glen Johnson you could see that Jones was delighted when he won even a round. It was sad to see.
Unless Calzaghe has suddenly leapt over the hill himself, he will embarass Jones in this fight, spending most of it all over him like a rash. Thats not the opinion of a Calzaghe fan, but a fan of boxing in general, based on the evidence of my own eyes.
Slapping will not win the fight for Joe. Nor will his "GREAT" hand speed!!LOL Pressure will win the fight, that's all!! On the ropes fighting inside OLD MAN RJJ will drop 3 or 4 uppercuts, and if one lands 1 and stuns Joe then we could see a bad ass fight!

Jones was great, but he isn't anymore.
It's hard to tell mate.
Roy knows who he's going to be getting in the ring with, and will be up for it.

U could be no more wrong. he don't move around like he used but i seen him put togehter 3-4 combos on trinidad pretty quickly and he didn't look tired to o me. Also how is Joe gonna hurt him, he was taking trinidad shots..fact is the only people who Koed Jones were heavy handed LHW. Something Joe Calzaghe is not!

Joe will probably beat Roy, but embarrass him?!?!
Not a chance!
Roy Jones has lost his last four fights against world level opposition by embarassingly wide margins. Tarver beat him more convincingly the first time than the third.
Joe Calzaghe will do exactly the same. I promise you, Jones himself will not be expecting to win on fight night.
Boxing will be a better place without Joe for real. An undefeated Super Middleweight with Laila Ali like power is not a good look for gaining fans for the sport, especially with all the competition with MMA nowadays. He also has virtually no personality. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a skilled boxer. But he's also one of the most dull fighters in years.
I feal like he has to do more to be consider one of the so called greatest fighters, I know hes undefeated but the best name he has on his resume is Kessler and Hopkins and even if he fights and beats Roy he still wont get his respect because both Hopkins and Roy are old and pass their prime, He has to stick around and fight these young fighters like Pavlik, I think he's making to much of this retiring undefeated.
