In order to have a thriving repeat customer trend, your product has to continue to satisfy your customers.

When one says that, they obviously are implying the GENERAL SPORT of boxing and not just Floyd Mayweather. In order for a CASUAL MAINSTREAM fan to watch a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, they have to be left with a sense of drama and excitement that the FIGHT itself creates. Floyd Mayweather's style just doesnt produce that and the fact that he isnt putting himself in the ring with opponents who would bring the absolute best out of him isnt helping either. So how would these fans think to themselves, "Damn, that was a hell of a fight, I guess Ima watch OTHER fights as well!"

He is a classic boxer and markets himself in the same way another pure classic boxer Ali did, only in a new age Hip-hop style fashion. Ali got his persona from a heel/bad guy wrestler named Gergeous George. That wrestler was popular but he used to make fans hate him.

Floyd got his persona from a combination of Ali and 50cent/ or anybody Gangsta Rap culture.

Fans don't pay to see these guys in great, exciting fights, they pay to see them lose or they pay because they become fans and like them for the way they are.

it doesnt work that way. Floyd is only in the business of promoting Floyd. He is not in the business of promoting Boxing. He said it himself, "we dont fight to prove to the fans who the best." What fighter today or past promoted boxing? When Sugar RAy was popular he was on a box of Wheaties by himself, is that not hyping himself. Same with Roy and Tito and ODLH. They all hype themselves up. No one promotes ALL boxing. It's lie the NBA they promote MJ, Magic, Bird, Lebron, D Wade, etc. Why dont they hype up the last player on the bench? Because it's about promoting the stars. The NBA is a union and a league about teams. Boxing is about the individual.
