I disagree about poverty making good fighters. If that were the case, we would see more fighters from the ****** in mma.
Not that ALL poor people are excellent fighters, unlike a malnutritioned, broken down farmer. The category it falls into is the "only-the strong-survive", where if you don't work...you don't eat! It the total opposite of being born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You tend to tolerate, and undure more, that's all.

Good post. The "they're poor" explanation is always too simplistic.
I am proud of the users onthis board that decided not to allow this thread to turn into some sort of race-war. Kudos to all that addressed this particular question with calss, and knowledge.
A race is composed of people whose perceived physical markers are socially significant (especially in creating and maintaining systems of social inequality).
An ethnic group is composed of people whose perceived cultural markers are socially significant (especially in creating and maintaining systems of social inequality).
It has nothing to do with colour at all..Its just who wonts it the most!! Thats how fights are won. But some races do fare better in certain weights, Like the Mexicans quite a few of there fights dont swell up to much.
John Ruiz has proven that hispanics make the most exciting HW's!
I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not but race has nothing to do with
a boxer's natural abilities..
It's true that you might find more Black and Latino boxers that excel in boxing, but that is only because you find more gyms in the inner city areas and there is a survival mentality there so if you are 11 and your father doesnt want you in a gang but also wants you to defend yourself he might start taking you to a gym to learn how to box...
