Floyd will be remember in my book like a skillfull fighter, very good with his mouth, a guy that selects very well his opponents, very good in public relations. A money maker. A champion. But a guy that evade to fight the boxers that have a real ahot to beat him.For example; Barrera, Morales, Marquez, tzu,Freitas,Margarito and especially Cotto. What a list? Right? That affect his greatness. If he retires undeafeted his gonna be remember like a champion. But comparitions with Leonard, Hagler, Hearns,Gomez, Duran and i think Mosley because he always fight the best and never put excuses to fight anyone. This are super champions not only on the skill lever but they have the balls to fight anyone at any time. Mayweather is great but he not belong to the list mentioned before.

I'm almost positive that the PPV's with Judah and Baldomir each did near 400,000. Floyd earned $5 million for Judah and around $8 million for Baldomir, not including the PPV split. Not sure about the Mitchell fight.

Floyd will have made over $20 million in each of his last 2 fights and Cotto and Mosley combined couldn't produce that much. Its tough to be motivated for $10 million when you've been making $20+ million.
If you have devoted your life to boxing and like money as much as Mayweather clearly does then I think it would be fairly easy to motivate yourself for a fight worth $10 million.

Look at De La Hoya. When you've made enough to live a luxurious lifestyle, and your kids to live a luxurious lifestyle and their kids.... there isn't much motivation to get punched in the face repeatedly. You and I can sit back and be mad that these fighters aren't interested anymore, but can you really blame them?

I think boxers have a responsibility first and foremost to themselves and their families and nobody can hold that against them but Mayweather will get flack if he beats Hatton and takes a fight other than Cotto and I think it would be deserved.

I would agree with that unless Spinks (or another "smaller" fighter) wins a belt at Middleweight, or Mosley beats Cotto in a rematch. Otherwise, I don't see anyone else out there that brings as much to the table as Cotto. One other thing, I don't think Floyd will make the fight with Top Rank. He'd force Cotto to leave Arum first, which is the best thing about that fight.

Interestingly enough, Floyd Mayweathers claims that he is the draw, and the claim that Miguel Cotto doesnt bring anything to the table are contradicting statements.

If Floyd is as big a draw as he claims to be, what Cotto brings to the table is completely irrelevant. If Floyd is the superstar he professes to be he does not need big name fighters to make mega bucks.

Oscar De La Hoya could announce that he was going to fight a kitten, and still sell 500k ppv. Could you do that Floyd? No? Didn't think so.

                    Man up and fight Cotto.

hell fight cotto, mayweather doesnt like people saying he wont do something or that hes ducking someone thats important. its the biggest reason why he gave castillo that rematch, its a big reason why that fight vs spinks at 154 didint happen. mayweather and his team are just talking the same nonsense bob arum talks. he aint that ******.

                      i hope.
