I dont understand why Mayweather's camp is trying to undervalue Cotto. He is clearly worthy of a unification bout with Mayweather. He also will bring $ and fans to the table. Not a DlH or Hatton figure (due to Hatton having an entire country behind him getting ppv buys), but it will be a huge payday.
The only reason why I can believe they are saying this, is because they truly mean it. Hell any intelligent person knows that if Mayweather beats Hatton, Cotto has to be next, and they should be hyping this up.
One thing Mayweather needs to look at is how DLH and Leonard promoted their oppositon,vs tear them down. Now true Hatton nor DLH are the prime and quality fighters that a Duran, Heanrs, Hagler were, so Leonard attempting to tear them down would be futile, but the way he was professional about it, and made the public wait for bit for the Hearns fight, and they fought both on the same card the previous fight, to expose both of them (mostly hearns to get more people to see how brutal he was) so that the interest would peak for a fight, is somehting that Mayweather camp should study, If it wasnt for Golden Boy handling the promotions of his last two fights, Maywether would still be wondering why he is not getting the PPV buys that a DLH or Hatton gets.
I think Mayweather is a great greaf fighter and has fought everyone he should, and gets a bad rapp for his style, when in fact he fighting much bigger fighters..but he brings it on himself, and I hope Hatton whips his ass. This 24/7 show I just watched shows mayweather with a lack of character, his entire family, and i believe that a lot of borderline Mayweather fans, and those not before behind either fighter are now going to root for Hatton to whip his ass too.Comment

Black Jesus I totally agree with you. This is obviously a ploy by the Mayweather camp. They know damn well Cotto is a big draw in the sport (especially at MSG) and are trying to get more money to take the fight. Although, I think Floyd would win, his camp knows it wouldn't be a cake walk.Comment

it definatly would not be a cakewalk. But Cotto had better get back to aggressivly breaking down his opponent, as that counter punching depending on a jab (even though it was very very effective and dlh used it good vs mayweather) will not lead to victory for him....He IMO will need to be very physical with Floyd, not wild but effectivly pressuring him, following the jab in, mixed in with some strong right hands..then later on start dropping that left hook as early on it will not be there for him to land. unless to the body.Comment
