Best British Boxer Of All Time?

He beat the very best European World Champions such as Mikkel Kessler and Chris Eubank and was World Champion at Super-Middleweight for well over a decade.
Then he moved up a weight division and faced America's Pound-for-Pound best boxer (Mayweather was not boxing at this point) in Bernard Hopkins and beat him.
Don't forget, he also unified his division, which not many so-called great World Champions do these days.
We are only a tiny island so we should be proud that such a boxer hails from these shores.

Guess it depends on your view re nationality personally I count him as a Kiwi but would be delighted to be convinced otherwise, love to claim him!

Even Eubanks who you mentioned was way past it (battered by Collins twice), and only took it on ten days notice but made him fight for his life! When probed about the Reid, Kessler and Hopkins fights he says he doesn't like rematches but that never stopped him fighting Mario Viet again! I'm not a Calslappy hater (even though I do find him boring) and won't say he wasn't good and didn't acheive something in his career but the fact that he avoided risks means he shouldn't be number one ahead of Lewis or even Hatton who at least dared to go into the Lion's Den. I will say he is top 5 and very good, but not number one and not a great
