I think Fury needs to beat Joshua and Joshua to show his own career to be genuinely HOF worthy in addition to which I think Fury needs 5-6 more defenses and that needs to probably include a win over one of the next champions like Dubois or Hrgovic plus wins over Whyte and/or Usyk to add some more depth.

He can do it but he needs to be active. If he retires in three fights as he says then he won't have enough. I see him as being around 12 or 13 but if he stays around for 3-4 more years and is active then he has a shot at the top 10.

LOL ! This level of heavyweights is a joke at best. You cannot proclaim greatness on any heavyweight in this era due to the pathetic skill level and horrible fighters we see. Wilder was the biggest one dimensional heavyweight "champion" ever. Wlad has physical tools but did not want to engage in a firefight.Somewhat timid I would say. Fury is kind of a freak of nature with his movement and hand speed for a guy so tall but come on. Gerry Cooney probably would have blasted Fury out IMO.

If he beats Joshua he is definitely a top 10 all time. Has to beat Joshua first otherwise his resume is just way too thin.

I’ve already posted more then I wanted to and stayed way longer then I should , have fun .

            Thank God!!!

We've been sitting here desperately awaiting your take on the matter!

AJ has unified the division in only 19 fights and already a two time world champion ,that alone is much more then most heavyweight in history by itself, so in your eyes he’s not great yet unless he defeated Fury ? You don’t need a long succession of being great look at Mike Tyson ? Fighters do it differently . And they don’t hand them out as much now like they did back in the day . I can list a dozen heavy weight fighters that you would mock today that are all time greats of yesteryears group.

You guys refer to the historians on here .
I don't mock fighters. You assume I want Fury to beat AJ because Aj is great? Not quite. I want Fury to go after AJ because a great fighter wants to fight the best. AJ is clearly the second best heavyweight right now. To me it is an attitude thing. If you believe you are the best, you want to test it out.

Lewis always did... When the alphabet soup said "your mandatory is John ruiz (who Lewis could have beat with one hand tied behind his back) Lewis told them to stuff it and fought Michael Grant, who was considered a dangerous fighter at the time.

Dude, I don't know if you have a language barrier, but when you assume that I as a poster, hold the exact same views, have the exact same biases as the history section as a whole, it is kind of insulting and sounds kind of r e t a rd e d.

You know Lefty? I think to myself... Imagining this poor kid, with his head in a table clamp, as it tightens, screaming...His eye about to pop out of the socket... Being forced to post again and again in this section and it breaks my heart.

Let's face it, most other heavyweight champions have been puny and underbuilt. Even Fury's arm punches weight 30 or 40 lbs. He has a great big forearm he slaps men with on the sly, by bug reader.

Disciplined correctly by the referee, Fury's game would be severely weakened. One point was deducted, but Fury was foxy enough to realize that after that the ref would be afraid to do anything further. A lot of times he is not actually jabbing, he is just rubbing the open glove in Wilder's face, a strictly illegal tactic, momentarily blinding him but also risking an eye injury.

Meanwhile, Wilder has to be at exactly perfect range to even attempt launching the vaunted right, which he politely telegraphs in advance. No one has used their size better than Fury.
