Methodology & Techniques...................that went right over your head!
By all means tell us where you boxed out of? (gym)
Who trained you (trainer) and who was your matchmaker & promoter?
Pretty straight forward questions with easy answers, right?
......training methods and supplements improve as well circumstances and also who competes in your division........
Tell me about these new training methods & supplements?

When you study these ingredients for a few years, then apply them then compare the greats you get a pretty clear and obvious opinion that is actually based on FACTS not opinions.
I keep hearing about "wide punches" from the novice boxing fans here.
Stop and realize that the "wide punches" that are set up are the ones hardest to see and those are the ones that do the most damage. Robinson had ALL the punches and was fast & powerful. It's on film and if you know what your looking at its pretty clear.
Ray
The same usual garbage about methods and techniques and then you go on with a really simple quip about how sometimes the wide punches are necessary and can be difficult to see.
Well I'm stunned!
I've got to go and lie down now after being served with such wisdom from such a brilliant boxing mind!
Unbelievable how you can even swallow your OWN garbage!
We all know where you got your boxing education from...
1. Sweeping the floor
2. Emptying the spit bucket...
The closest interaction you probably had with Mike Tyson was when he missed the bucket and got your trouser leg instead. I bet you framed those pants too vowing never to wash them!

So you had a friend at 6 who gave you children's gloves who fought for a title.
Then you boxed amateur for a few years appearing in 41 bouts.
As for me I'm a lot older than you are, for sure.
No never had the pleasure to see Sugar Ray in person in any context.
The records of the fighters then was "not padded" it was their livelihood.
The Champions and contenders didn't have the luxury of tv, closed circuits or ppv they fought in live events hence their extremely active schedules. Once a Champion defends against his contenders he still needs to eat so he fights on. He can take on a major cities top pro to secure an arena with ample seating to insure a good cut of a gate if he can't get his fee met on the bout alone.
Theres 8 to 12 contenders that usually had some draw when they're met you move on to anyone and everyone you can earn from.
When your coming out of the "Great Depression" and entering a WW2 things are different then now, understand?
Quiting against Maxim, seriously? Ahead on all score cards, the bout had a judge and referee replaced, with audience members being attended to for extreme heat! Do some reading on that one Steve!
Referring to World Champion Jake LaMotta as a punching bag ends this with you. LaMotta vs Robinson were very close bouts except for the last one when LaMotta struggled to make weight. Your watching to many movies for boxing information. LaMotta is still alive today at 90+ next to Max Schmeling who lived to be 99 yrs old Jake is the oldest ex World Champ.
You don't know boxing as I do, you know it as you do! There's a difference.
