List your all-time 10 favorite fighters

Alot of good lists,,,

Its very hard to narrow it down to just ten guys, as most of us are true fans of the sport and not just fanboys in NSB

I find it interesting that alot of people put guys like old-timers like louis, demspey on lists,, I like older fighters from generations past, but i never got to watch them live, and never got to root for the,,, I chose guys that i have watched with my own eyes simply for the fact that i have a much better connection with them,, i remember fights like oscar-vargas, SRL-hagler, tyson-spinks, etc that i remember the hype and the aftermath and i felt so much more connected to those guys, i just couldnt put on my list guys like henry armstrong even though i have a great respect for him. just because i never got to see him with my own eyes,, and never was hyped for his big fights,, etc

True,, i just cant have a guy as my favorite that i never saw live, or werent around to root for him,,, I started watching boxing as a small kid in the early 80s and to me, SRL was the greatest ever,, and then when tyson arrived on the scene with the mike tyson punchout video game,, and then chavez with his undefeated streak,, Those guys seemed like gods to a kid, and then i watched the whole careers of guys like evander, oscar, roy,, i remember when toney burst on the scene with the ko of nunn,, being super excited about the toney-jones fight,,, i literally thought that would be the greatest fight ever,,,
I guess what im trying to say is that my favorite fighters are guys that i have actual memories of,, yes with youtube we can watch the history of boxing very easily, but i dont have any memories about those guys,,,,
But to each his own,, i have no complaint if someone wants to put louis or jack johnson on their list,,,,

I think Monzon is an acquired taste. I had read about him before I saw him on video and was hugely disappointed when I first watched him. I thought he was slow, stiff and inelegant but the more I watched him the more his brilliance shone through. Monzon-Benvenuti I is one of the great middleweight world title fights, only ruined slightly by the quality of the video for this fight, a problem for most Monzon fights.

I find Carlos Monzon to be fascinating. In the ring and out of the ring.

Also,he smoked like a chimney,and never gassed. Yes he fought relaxed,but I mean come on...The guy was just a freak.

Had a chin made of iron as well. Only down once in his career,his last bout.
