Ask me this same question in a week & you'll probably get five different fighters on the list.

Actually, can I have eleven please?

    In no particular order...

    Nigel Benn
    Chris Eubank
    Ted Kid Lewis
    Jack Kid Berg
    Stanley Ketchel
    Terry Downes
    Lennox Lewis
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Jack Dempsey
    Jack Johnson
    Jimmy Wilde

My favorites, not who I think are the best except my first choice is THE best.
      Sugar Ray Robinson--the best ever.
      Me
      Gaspar Ortega
      Carlo Zarate'
      Salvator Sanchez
      Joe Louis
      Archie Moore
      Jack Dempsey
      Rocky Marciano
      Jack Johnson
      Joe Gans
      Willie Pep
      Pete Whitaker

current favotites to watch....(Lil" Rocky Marciano) Rusian
GGG, Adrian Broner (but he's slipped back his last two fights) the tests are coming! I thought he could be special in the ring but he has no dignity or respect for others and that will catch up to you in life! Rigo the most skilled and I like Donaire also. Ray.

I knew you would have some of the same names I picked but I did pick you as a Basilio kind of guy, I would name Archie Moore often depending on the day. You have 3 of my picks there, SRR, Pep and Gans.

I find it interesting that alot of people put guys like old-timers like louis, demspey on lists,, I like older fighters from generations past, but i never got to watch them live, and never got to root for the,,, I chose guys that i have watched with my own eyes simply for the fact that i have a much better connection with them,, i remember fights like oscar-vargas, SRL-hagler, tyson-spinks, etc that i remember the hype and the aftermath and i felt so much more connected to those guys, i just couldnt put on my list guys like henry armstrong even though i have a great respect for him. just because i never got to see him with my own eyes,, and never was hyped for his big fights,, etc
All well and good but I have seen film of all the guys on my list and/or tv. Being an Aussie and too young to have been a fan when boxing and boxers were at their peak and Tooooooooooooooooooo Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr away in any case to see live. Fact is most of the greats are old timers who were great at a time when there were hundreds of brilliant fighters around. The best fighters I have seen live in the flesh are Kostya and Jeff Harding and the bouts with the likes of Roy Jones Jr out of my price range anyway. Of all the fighters in history I would have wanted to be ringside at is Les Darcy as I believe he was as great as anyone ever. (on film he rocks).

Mike Tyson - first fighter I ever saw and got me into boxing, can relate to his story
Floyd Mayweather - followed his career since the Olympics even though i was a youngster. Greatest fighter I have ever seen
Marvin Hagler - saw him on ESPN classics as a child and on old tapes my mom had. Can relate to his story and admire his dedication
Muhammad Ali - the greatest, an inspiration
Bernard Hopkins - another inspiring story
Roy Jones - yall musta forgot
Juan Manuel Marquez - all heart
                Ricardo Lopez - crazy technique
Marcel Cerdan - he has an interesting story
Wilfred Benitez/Niccolino Locche - great defensive fighters
and Andre Ward is up there for his skill and he's a bay area representative.. Hard list to create and could change honestly
